Well, I have not seen an Amnesia: The Dark Descent thread in the video game section yet so I though I would start one. This thread is about anything Amnesia, whether it's The Dark Descent, Justine and custom stories.
Questions, tips, facts, pictures, statements and funny stories are welcomed as long as they relate to this topic.
It looks very detailed. I just hope that Frictional Games keeps with their game engine that they used for the first Amnesia.
I hope so too. I doubt they would change it since people liked it. They are going to introduce some new gameplay mechanics though. I'm sure the game will be great. I find it interesting that they are developing it with thechineseroom. Their previous games have been out of the ordinary. It seems that we'll get to go outside too.
I absolutely cannot wait for A Game for Pigs. I beat the first one a while ago. So much fun!
You and me both!
Found out something interesting. In the storage area, the is a part where the shadow roars a some boulders fall down. If you look up in that area you can see what appears to be the back hall. The interesting thing is that you wouldn't be able to see the back hall from the storage because the storage moves away from the hall. Has anyone ever noticed that?
Also in the Study connected to the back hall, there is supposed to be a secret phonograph from the girl who tried to escape the castle. Unfortunately, it was removed from the game when the Justine expansion was released.
Yet another interesting thing I've found. When being chased by the kaernk in the Cellar Archives or Archival Tunnels, it is possible to damage the creature by hitting it with a box or other large object. If the box hits the kaernk just right, it will cease its attacks leaving Daniel to explore the area without harm.
I just got this game a few days ago and it has great designs with the systems, dialog, challenges, and overall scary as hell. I've not made it too far, but, far enough to know to not go in the water :P That was scary the first time I did.

Nice! I remember my first time in that water. "WHAT THE F***! WHAT THE F***! WHAT THE F***!"
