I'm sure this forum is filled with Nintendo fans, so I don't think this console needs any further introduction!

I happen to love this magnificent device, even though I haven't been able to play in a while due to my unfortunate luck with both the Cube itself and the games! But when I did play it, I was really into NFS Underground and Mario Kart Double Dash and I would always beat my friends when they'd play against me... =)

Do you have any interesting Gamecube experiences or memories? A favorite Gamecube game perhaps? This is the place to discuss it!

I loved Super Mario Sunshine. I remember the happy moment when I finally got all 120 shines.

I think both of them are better when you have people to play with. I have played tons of Brawl by myself. Just play against the computer.

I still count that as playing against others, even though my opponents are CPU's, because I'm still playing in versus mode... though it does seem a bit silly, I'll admit, that I view my cyber-opponents the same way as I do my human ones!

If the computers were any good I would consider them players. However, even the hardest level comps aren't good.

Wow. That is a real achievement. Good job!

The Gamecube was my first system, and my favourite too. SSM, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Monkey Ball 2, and Tales of Symphonia were my favourite games. Nowadays though, it just sits next to my Xbox 360.

No, they aren't great opponents, but neither are most of the human people I play against, so I generally hold them at the same level! xP

I wish I had known that when my Gamecube still worked! Now I'm curious as to what that noise is!

I didn't know it existed either until I looked it up on YouTube.

And it makes me wonder how many other secret loading screens are out there...

Just the 3, unfortunately.

Had I worked for Nintendo at the time, you can guarantee that there would be many more.

It doesn't make me think of monkeys stepping on children.

And that sound isn't reassuring to you?

I think both of them are better when you have people to play with

I happen to think that's true with all non-PC games. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Naturally you've come to this conclusion because you and I have never played a match against each other.

That's a darn shame... you'd think they'd have more easter eggs hidden within the coding! But I guess if they had too many, it wouldn't be as fun to find the new ones.

Another reason why Gamecube Live should exist!

I'm sure there are plenty of easter eggs within the games themselves. Nintendo is crafty like that.

Games like Tony Hawk's PS4 and and MLB Slugfest 2003 had plenty of cheats that made the game more interesting. Those games weren't exclusive to Nintendo, but I'm sure there are plenty of other Gamecube games that have cheats or other hidden unlockables.

I'm sure almost all of them contain cheats in some form!

But on the subject of achievements/unlockables, what is the most disappointing thing in a GC game you've ever unlocked? For me it was Mirror Mode in Double Dash... I found a few shortcuts from racing backwards, but other than that it wasn't all that interesting!

I only used cheats when I didn't have a memory card. I didn't see the logic behind unlocking something that's just going to get erased after I turn off the console.

Dr Mario in Melee was a waste of space. Unlocking him added nothing to the game.

There were also some useless hidden game modes in MLB Slugfest 2003, like the animal-player modes. The eagle one was the worst because it basically blocked the entire strike zone.

Come to think of it, the only game mode worth unlocking was unlimited turbo mode, and that one as I recall was the most difficult to unlock out of all of them; even after I looked up the code I could only unlock it by pressing random buttons.

Well, my last question seemed to have killed the thread for the time being, so I'll ask an easier one...

What is the WORST Gamecube game you've ever played?

I was never a fan of any of the football ones, such as NFL 2K3 or Madden 2003 (can you guess what year I got my Gamecube?) I wouldn't say that they're the worst, I just personally found them unbearably annoying to control.

Game Cube was amazing when I first got it I couldn't stop playing it. My favorite game was Super Smash Bros Melee. But then time passed and i got hooked into the xbox and eventually forgot about the GameCube.
