Dogs. Did you know a female dog is a bitch? Wait, why did it blur that out? It's not a swear word! It's just a shortening of a female dog! Which is a bitch! Ugh, stop blurring that out! Why do you keep blurring the word bitch out!?!?!?!?

wow pixie that is intense... why are they called water bears if they are that small?

I suppose you could call that bear like. I think it is the closest you will get to looking like one for a twentieth of an inch long. Another name is moss piglets

holy poop... lol why do they have so many claws? is it because they are that small and need to grip on to anything they can??? and when they do go in their long "sleep" do they curl up???

Well marine tardigrades have mor claws than terrestrial ones and some have adapted their claws into "suction cups" so I think grip could be a factor. They are common in mosses so they would need to claw their way throug I supose.

and when they do go in their long "sleep" do they curl up???

They basically live anywhere where there is water so when the supply runs out they dry out. Once all the water has been expelled and its cell fats are broken down into a sugar called trelahose which protects it making it almost indestructable. So since it is dehydrated completely I assume it would curl up. Like a grape into a raisan.

The water bears, I recall reading about them, IT is said that they can live through the harshest temperatures, drought and even radiation and acids. Nothing really kills them. They go into a "Pseudo death" and wake up again when the environment is favorable.

Yeah DDX they are veryy cool. They have been cooled to -272 degrees c and resurected and warmed to 151 degees c. THey have been stored in liquid helium for a week and given doses of radiation thousands of time the fatal dose for humans. They have been squashed with pressured 6 times greater than the bottom of the ocean. But come back to life with a drop of water. very cool and useful scientists are trying to use them to send into space.
