Dude... What is Shabby graphics? Maple story graphics fail at life. (Real badly..) The only good game Nexon has made is Combat Arms and they still can't keep out the hackers.
So Maplestory fails. I played it. Got Bored. I figured out I had to pay for alot of stuff in MapleStory.
MapleStory is boring. The Attacks looks cheesy and everything... Even the web click RPG's are better than MapleStory I mean come on! How can you play such a rubbish game.
The graphics are designed by what? A three year old. Fail.
Runescape and maplestory are hard to compare runscape is one of the greatest mmog games with its multiple skills and popularity but maplestory is great for customization, cartoonish style, and is the best platform game online
Ok. I have played both games! I'll start off with RuneScape.
I played RuneScape for two years. WHen I started out, it was great! The graphics were not great and the movement was sketchy but the gameplay was very fun when I had played it. Jagex cared about the game. The game started steadily declining and earning gold was too hard, farming for herbs and killing stuff non-stop for drops felt unfulfilling. No wonder there is so many scammers. They started to put in anti-gold-trade additions that completely ruined the game. And eventually it lost it's point, it was no longer the game I had loved and played so I quit. I moved on to World of Warcraft with my good friend Slifer00678, we no longer speak with each other but we are both doing well in the game. It's much better with better graphics, gameplay, the owners care, more content and group play, guilds, achievements, etc. Some of the skills in RuneScape are useless like Firemaking, summoning, thieving, etc. Their market is inflated and scammers were a huge problem. Autoers were everywhere, when they finally got rid of all that the game was no longer playable for me. There is no classes, and your spells hit fixed amounts. There is not much HP and you can get hit for 90 in one hit by a Dark Bow. All your gear is bought by other players, nothing to work for.
Maplestory, the graphics are atleast better than RuneScape's. I like how you can spec your character with a class and continue down the path of that class. Mine was a magician, cleric. I played it for about a year at the same time that I played RuneScape, MapleStory has stupid stuff though like NX Cash, the skills are cheesy and keybinding them is brutally atrociously akward. Training was boring, stand there and hold shift to cast Magic Claw over and over and over and if you get in trouble heal yourself. Your mana gets low drink a pot and if you die bye bye 5% xp. Party Quests were pretty fun, I like how you can group to do them. But they got repeptitive, and they weren't an effective way to level. There was no PvP at all, and I didn't like that. It's all PvE (Player vs. Everything) and you can actually group up with a high level and have them kill stuff and let you leech xp. You could invite a level 80 to your group, he kills and kills and kills and kills for you. 4 hours later you come back you're level 26. What kind of fun is that? Once I hit level 34 I didn't know what to do and I quit.
Both games in my opinion are not that great. But if I had to play one of them, it would be Runescape. But I'd have to have member's subscription or I'd kill myself. I've already beaten that content.
i have a lvl 72 account on runescape and i hate it completely i have also played maple story i like that one better
very important note: me and a bunch of friends downloaded maple story and we all got the worse virus ever it showed very bad pics that you wouldn't want to know so be ready for it if you download maple story

@ alsage... for some reaason i think that maple global got hacked, and turned into a porn site a cpl months ago or sumthin like that lol.. but then again it works on my mac, but on my friends pc its all pron lol... same adress different site.. weird. Anyways everyone knows how i feel about runescape.. its a free timewaster where u screw up your childhood instead of going outside and making friends and spending time with those friends....
Maplestory=10X btr, just because it looks btr, and even thow its cartonny graphics, the graphics are still way btr than runescapes mimicking what true horrible graphics looks like. Maple story all the way
i think that they both suck but in a way maple story is better because the way you move in runescape sucks you have to click were you want to go and its hard to walk past trees and objects when i played it i could barely move at all theres a bunch of trees every were my character kept on cutting down trees and attacking animals but in maplestory you dont walk with the mouse you can use the arrows or change what your controls are the only thing i dont like about maple story are your enemys because most of them are pigs and mushrooms that just leaves you thinking wtf but its still better then runescape and i feel real sorry for those retards that become memebers to runescape like wtf is wrong with that person
