well, Runescape has the better graphics. Runescape is best known for its skills and the way they intervene with other skills. this has created a value in almost every item, and garauntees a group of people who want to buy that item. adding the grand exchange to the mix, this gives runescape an outstanding economy and market system.
Also, more of the players on runescape are mature, you just have to look in higher places ^^
Maple story's 2d graphics aren't winning any awards. I don't like the amount of grinding in MS. A 200 level cap is a bit high. the whole marriage thing implies romance in the game. Although im sure their are probably a few people who are serious about it, It seems kind of silly to me. Overall i would say runescape is the better game

Graphics for both games are terrible. RuneScape has a terrible economy, the only good weapon is the whip. On RuneScape you can buy a whip for 3.5m and go offline for 3 months and then it's down to 1.6m, the economy is terrible. You do lots of grinding in RuneScape too. 13.5 million xp to get to level 99. You get 4 points of xp per each damage point you do, and it takes 13.5 million xp to get to level 99 of a stat, you need level 99 att, str, def, hps, prayer, and summoning to get to the max level of 138. It takes years of playing to get to 138 without botting, and you can only train one skill at a time. I've played RuneScape AND MapleStory, I think they both suck. World of Warcraft is much better in every aspect, on RuneScape all you need is money to get gear, in World of Warcraft you have to go into dungeons and get gear from killing bosses, with 24 other people. It takes more skill to play World of Warcraft, there is many classes and each class has 3 sub-categories to even further customize your character. On RuneScape all you have to do is borrow 100 bucks from your friend and buy 100m. Ta-Da, you've got all the best gear in the game.
I like it how people say "OMG YOU HAVE TO PAY $5 A MONTH!" Be glad its not $16 or w/e it is for some game thats played by nerds... Aka; World of Warcraft.
i like maplestory better. although 2D the graphics are clearer mor precise. plus its simpler. the only real flaw is that all the quests r just constant item grinding

i think runescape is really cool but it get boring after u bet the non member quest so does maple story but it have alot more quest so there kind of a tie
I have played both, and quite frankly Maplestory got very boring after half an hour...I played RS for about 2 years, than got bored :P, still get on from time to time tho
