do you think that is a possibility? do you think it's a problem? can anyone even argue that America isn't as much for hispanics as caucasians? what nationality does America really belong to?
Why do you guys think its not possible? I think it is perfectly possible, and in fact if the trends continue than there will be more Hispanics than whites. Its not iffy, its a simple math problem, and you get a concrete number that tells you that whites will be outnumbered. This does not mean that we cannot change policies and how we run things to offset this prediction. Which we probably will. The reason whites will be outnumbered is because not only is there a large number of immigrants from Latin America but they also have the highs rate of reproduction of all races in the UNited STates. I don't think that this will cause any problems, if they assimilate well in society, that is, if they take on america ideals and become good americans. But if they feel oppressed, and distance themselves, this could cause a great rift, and many problems down the road.
It's perfectly possible especially here in Los Angeles...

Based on my experiences working in food service with latino immigrants of both a legal and illegal nature, as well as people of many other ethnicities, I say bring it on. Hardest working peeps I've ever met.
Ya its very true, the Mexican people that have come into America are very hard working. I give them props. I feel bad however, that they get such low paying jobs, and have to work soo much to get by. But that happens to everyone as a new immigrant, and plus its better than it was when they lived in Mexico. Plus the low wage jobs they take, allows us to have cheaper food, and keeps it getting produced. Its how it has always been. The waves of immigrants throughout history have always taken the lowest jobs, because even if they are low by our standards, they are awesome compared to how it was in their previous countries.
Caucasians are already outnumbered. By all the "minorities" including Hispanics. I agree with you Flipski. My step-family is Hispanic. My grandparents were some of the hardest working people I have ever seen. I can't say that much for my cousins, but the older generations did so much!

i think it is possible, there are many hispanics all over the world, and no i do not think this would be a terrible problem, our country does not even have an official language, our country has changed hands from the native americans, to the spanish, to Great Britian and France, and then us. It is impossible to give us one nationality.

It was originally founded by caucasians, therefore it did favor them. Over time, it has changed.

The United States has become its own nationality. It doesn't matter where our ancestors came from.
The greatest threat to this nation is that each individual racial/cultural/social group will stop seeing themselves as Americans. If this happens, the country will rot from the inside out. We can celebrate and promote our individual heritages so long as we continue to recognize that our greatest strength as a nation is derived from our higher unity as Americans.

true that. well whoever the official was on tv based his prediction on a current trend. trends NEVER continue at the same rate. he probably took a small sample of a timeline, found the percentage increase in Mexican immigrants in that short time, and multiplied that percentage by the 100 years. there are way too many fluctuations in trends to be able to do that.
that would be like going to Arizona and calculating the percentage of different ethnic groups in one city block, then multiplying that by the total area in the world to get a percentage of ethnic groups in the world. it just doesn't work
