First of all, I'd like to say again that I'm not siding with anyone, I'm simply expressing what I believe, verbally. I don't think Saddam was doing a better job than Bush, but at least Iraq was a wealthy nation with a stable economy, economic classes and achievements. . The man was expressing what he believes and feels, physically. I'm not saying he should've did what he did, violence isn't the answer. But every action has a reaction. America shouldn't have thought that it could walk into Iraq, change everything in their lives, and come out of the whole thing without a scratch.
last time I checked, Iraq is under the governance of a freely elected executive and legislative branch, with a constitution written by its people.
Executives were put there by the American government, they suck up to the United States. The candidates that the Iraqi population can vote are all willing to do what America wants. Hypothetically speaking, let's say Bush did bring peace to Iraq, at what cost? The death of 1,000,000 Iraqis?
And last I checked he was in good health.
Note that the reporter's life is in danger now. Al Zeidi's newpaper is pleading for him to be treated fairly. He was dropped to the ground and taken away, moaning. Then a trail of blood could clearly be seen on the carpet. Friends and family frantically tried calling their relative, but in vain, his phone was switched off. I think family and friends have the right to know what will happen to him. He should be given a fair trial. The station begged the government to "spare his life."
Let me jump to this point:
Neither do I. I call it freedom of speech. I just don't agree with his motivation.
Did the American government give the Iraqis the right to express their feelings just so they can be attacked by the people in charge? Is that what you call freedom of speech? Sorry but I don't see any freedom there, right after the shoe was thrown (which you agreed was his right to express himself) he was attacked and put down like a sick animal. What happened to human rights? Iraqis don't want dictatorship, and they don't want to be a nation completely dependant on the U.S.
You don't agree with his motivation? Which would be? More random assumptions? His motivation is unknown but it would be a fair supposition that he was angry at the way the Iraqis are treated. Al Zeidi's newspaper suggests another motivation, the death of a co-worker by unknown gunmen in September, 2007.
You can't say he was exhibiting non-objective behavior. Who's being objective then? The NY times that planted CIA articles about WMDs?
Also, there is a definite timeline for the exit of American troops because the country is now very close to stable. Iraq under Saddam was stable because governments tend to be stable when you execute all of the dissidents.
Really now? Didn't American troops do pretty much the same as what Saddam did? But over a shorter period of time, with more killings? I haven't researched, but I'll go with your statement that 18,000 Iraqis were killed over Saddam's control (July 16, 1979 â" April 9, 2003.) Americans killed 60 times more Iraqis in only 5 years, compared to Saddam's 18,000 in 24 years.
And he did.
Yes but see, there is no Iraqi population.
And what would have happened if he had thrown a shoe at the Iraqi Prime Minister? Everyone would have shook his hand?
Here you go again argueing as if I was siding with Iraq's former regime. I'm saying that if the American government promised to make their lives better, why are they doing the things their pedecessors, who failed, would've done?
So was the USA Congress, otherwise a war could not have been declared. That's how democracy works. They were certain too. The CIA was certain. British and Israeli intelligence was certain.
everyone knows Saddam had no love for the US.
A little BIASED? We had no love for Iraq, either. The American government, the British government and the Israeli government have no love for the Middle-east as a whole. Think of Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan... I have a feeling I'm forgetting a few others.

Human Rights!
