What is your favorite WWII weapon?

Mine would have to be a KAR98, or an MG42

Really starting to enjoy these history threads.

Personally I like "Hobart's Funnies". The sheer variety of inovations Percy Hobart came up with, somethat are still being used today. Jsut so many new additions to the tank design like the Bobbin to lay roads quickly. The ARK to make ramps to go up inclines. And my pesonal favourite the "Crocodile - A Churchill tank modified by the fitting of a flame-thrower in place of the hull machine gun...It excelled at clearing bunkers and it was a strong psychological weapon" to quote wiki. If a huge metal "crocodile" comes towards me spitting fire i'm gonna evacuate my bunker that for sure.

Mine would be the BAR. I have no idea why I like it, it just seems like a cool gun to me.

STG and Bar are good choices. I have to say tie between Garand and trench gun.

I loved all of Hobart's Funnies, I mean, who in their right mind would make tanks with an inflatable raft around it, so it could float towards the beachead and then fire while still at sea?

I see that my favortie weapon the KAR98 has shown up a few times, that's always good news. Along with the M1 Garand, and the trench gun.

For those that don't know what BAR means, it stands for: Browning Automatic Rifle. It has a 20 round clip, and can be semi-automatic or fully automatic.

As I own one, I do like the Mosin Nagant. But, I always liked the BAR, you just got to love a automatic .30-06 with a 20 round magazine in warfare, and the M1 Garand is also nice. I saw a used Garand in a store for $1,000 and it went quick. Wish I'd have had the thousand then, that was a good rifle.

The PPSH 41, with it's extreme rate of fire and high clip/drum capacity it can literally tear some1 in half. The MG42 is my second favorite...it pretty much owned in combat and its service record is outstanding.

Ahmen to the MG42, it was mainly the only machine gun that Germany used in WWII to defend the beaches of Normandy, and was in many bird nests.

Ah the Mosin Nagant, a friend of mine has one, I'am not sure how he acquired it, but it's beautiful to fire a round or two at the practice range.

Wait a second CerealkillerX, the names of the atomic bombs were as follows: fat man and little boy, you combined the two together for fat boy, intersting mate.

MP40 also has a place in my heart, it was the weapon issued to my great uncle had when he served in WWII, but was later killed.
