One thing i do when i try to sleep is i just like jump(kinda when someone sneaks behind you and then just yells something) sometimes when i'm about to fall asleep, it happens because, well idk.
have a personal explantion for why we jump, by that I mean it's just what I interpret the jump to be. I've always believed it to be my soul or spirit returning back to me.
thats both crazy and a little truth. the only time i can rememberj umping in my sleep is when i was having a dream and i got punched in the face...
I talk in my sleep, have very odd dreams... There is one series of dreams that at the end of June, I always have... I have had it every year since I was three and every year, it is the same thing plus a few more scenes... It is quite odd as far as the plot goes...
I also roll around in my sleep and often fall out of bed... My way of countering this is to put pillows on my left and right that I won't roll over... It doesn't always help though...
You jump because before you go into sleep mode, your adrenal glands have to start pumping out a muscle relaxant. (I can't remember what the hormone is called...) That causes the signals to go down between the mind and the body and so just before you go under, the brain tries one last time to get a signal through by amplifying the strength. It does go through and because it is across all nerve endings, like a test, you "jump."
I sleep walk, eat, play games, use the toilet, and talk.
an explanation for the jumps, your having an outer body experience or at least about to, a noise occurs and scares you, then your soul zaps back into really fast and hard
