So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
SS is the 3rd best player in Colony :P Cholo is #2, while Krin is the obvious first (although most people don't count him, since he made the game)
Anyways, the current metagame revolves around Monarchy, and everything else is basically to COUNTER Monarchy It just goes to show you how powerful Influence units really are (Saints and Sphynxes are the 2 most powerful units in the game)
There are still conventional builds being used (Check out any of the videos I've made with Peggster in them), but they can get steamrolled if you don't properly prepare.
I don't remember the last time I built an Armory; probably back before Monarchy, when Sniper rushing was extremely powerful (and wasn't so blatantly countered by simply running a certain government).
Saints counter literally everything that isn't called Sakata MKII and Sphynx. Sakata MKII is countered by Prides, and Sphynxes are only seen vs another Monarchy anyways.
Lolz. That was good. I have so pretty darn many ideas for colony, but i guess, i should say nuthin and work on my own game. Thats gonna take years anyway...
I lost 5 games in a row. You know how? 5 DIFFERENT (!) enemies IN A ROW (!!) knew that horrible 100+ missiles hack! That must be a bad joke!? It is just like a giant lag and then disconnection, with the difference, that you can read: The game has ended [OK] > DEFEAT.
The world turns into flowering shit, even colony gets flowered. Bye, im out of here, playing good old multiplayer games from the previous generation: the good old board games like chess. And if i want to have some beautiful multipayer online thingy, world of warcraft will help. Bye, im out of here for the next weekends.
Wow, if monarchy is pretty much the dominant game strategy, that's pretty lame...
I mean, influence is only gained from monarchy through waiting, so to get influence units out you don't even need to base build, just wait for the influence to increase.
I must say, Colony in general is pretty lame now (no, I did not forget my username and password). More than every other game I encounter hackers, and in general it really is just saint/sphinx spamming
Oh do i miss the days of yore where actual basebuilding was neccesary and a fast build order was neccesary to win.
Allright, played around a little, found a nice guy who showed me around for a game to see the strategies, not as bad as i thought. If you simply never let them get the influence units going, it's okay.
The roman+sniper rush seems to still work pretty damn well, usually beat like 70% of the opponents with it straightaway. Plus, in safe skies snipers aren't a bad unit to spam neither.
But, monarchy is still boring as shit to me. Make a spec ops, wait for influence to fill up, build one unit like every minute.... Get a bunch of sphinxes out, win.

New hacks come out all the time and I need to understand how they work to be able to block it.

Overseen this great comment. Set harder punishments for hacking:
1.) E-mail adress must be required, not just optional 2.) Only one account for one email adress! 3.) And now, big punishments for hacking: Your not allowed to play a game the next 24 hours or so
All what you do is to punish very good playing players, Krin.
1.) Spam missiles > hacker 2.) Having many BQs/Glads > hacker
But nearly no one is hacking to make many bqs, glads or many missiles*, just tier 1 units (tanks, prides ...) because they can make it much quicklier and they have not to upgrade first (most hacks allow that the player simply doesnt pay for building/deploying).
But kk, im looking for hackers and websites theyre spreading. Still im VERY angry, thats both a new 'generation' of spamming aand hacking in colony.
i found a couple of hackers... Rankhead is one of them... i dont remember the other one... but heres the worst part... as a hack they could control there turrent defence from midfield, make u buy units and buildings, stop u from making stuff, take away ur resources and fast build everything,the also had unlimited resources.thnks if u fix this
What a motherflowerer. He was so nice to me and never hacked when he was my opponent (he always lost). Was that the reason to begin? Cant stand guys like him.
