Hi, I was wondering what everyone thinks about Xbox 360's gamerscore system, some seem to think it's pointless, but others think its a good way to have a bit of friendly competetion with your friends, but what do you, the people who play games on this very site think?
i dunno man.... I mean, i still have yet to completely dedicate myself to a 125G achievement for beating Halo on Legendary, but in 39 minutes, i commanded my Captain Chillz Team into victory with iron on the last level of Halo 3, on legendary, finishing in ghosts. We did it. for zero Gamerscore. I think its just the experience. I hate to sound like Miley Cyrus, but i think its just the road you take to get the achievement, that's what its all about.
gamerscore is useless and pointless because any1 can beat avatar and get 1000 points it doesn't show any real gaming skill thats what the actual achievements are for.
Gamerscore can be a rough indication of how much you play and how into achievements you are, but there are so many variables to it that are completely unrelated to skill or knowledge (Like the number of games you own, and WHICH games you play) that can throw off any reasonable comparison.
Not EXACTLY pointless, but pretty close. If you and a friend were to trade games back and forth (So that you both had equal chances), it might be a fair measure between you... But it is almost worthless for public comparison.
