Rugby is far better... more fast paced, harder :P (no matter what sports science says) and alot more fun to play. I tried to watch the superbowl last year and got bored fast... but I was captivated by the eeerrr.... 2003 (?) Rugby World Cup final that England one... Johnny Wilkinsons goal was amazing.

American Football? Just a bunch of African Americans on steroids. I'd like to see them take off their pads and last a full 80 minutes on rugby pitch, without all the time they get to rest due to substitutions and endless tv ad breaks.

Lol guess the Brits on this thread...

I know American Football hits are supposed to be harder but (and I'm sorry to bang about it) they wear padding... they get too sit down in a few minutes anyway.... and there are far more takles per game in Rugby. But it isn't all about violence.... I prefer watching rugby t'is far more enjoyable especially since you can't just lob the ball forward

The reason football players where padding is to prevent broken shoulders and sternums. That's where all of the padding is located.

Try slamming into a 250 pound, 6'5" dude at full force without padding.

Rugby players aren't so big, so they don't need such padding. And they don't slam into each other with such tremendous force. It hurts WITH padding often times.

American Football for me. But guess what, I'm American :P

And Bux, you spelled pussies wrong *cough*.

Well. Think of American football. Make the field longer, make every play 3 downs rather than 4, make the field wider. You now get one point if a kick goes out the back of the N-zone. There is one more defensive player on the field. The ball is smaller. Now the game is more offensive, players have to be more fit/faster as there is more space to make up between players, the quarterback is even MORE important as the wider/longer field/3 downs means you have to get more yards per play, and have more room to pass.

It's ALOT different. So I consider it a different game from American Football

And I think people are forgetting Australian Rules Footbal, although i don't know any fans of it =P

Are you being sarcastic? I think you might be but I can't tell. If you are that's not very nice =P

There are 8 at the moment. A 9th has been taken in and out as it has had limited success. And after the 9th has success, the plans are made for a 10th team. The Canadian Football League expanded into America at one time. Baltimore is the only American city to ever win a Grey Cup (CFL Championship)
