I just got a new computer and it came with a 1 month (Or something) free trial of Norton Internet Security. Now I have had Norton products before and I hated it so much I just uninstalled it a few days after getting the software.(I didn't buy it, It came with my other computer) I did this mainly because Norton's software is annoying, intrusive, uncontrollable and just downright bad. I mean it continues installs stuff to my browser without my permission that I can't uninstall by any normal means and if I delete the Norton Toolbar and stuff from my program files (Only way I have found to remove) but Norton replaces it without my permission the next time I boot up the computer. The software is also very buggy and it lists scam and phishing and even the occasional malware distributer as safe websites. Thats not protecting my computer thats trying to kill it. My point is that I do not recommend Norton software to ANYONE after my experiences with it. Now the other point of this post was to ask you the community what antivirus software you would personally recommend or not recommend and to discuss it.

IE is the bane of the internet, no matter how hard they try to make it semi-decent.

Use Crome or Firefox.
Crome is really fast too.
5 seconds on IE = bunch of spammy files.

I recommend these AVG & Malwarebytes ...
Norton Sercuity is bad news ...
AVG , Avast & Malwarebytes are the way to go!

That's the epic advantage to having a mac, no viruses.


Macs can still get viruses it's computerized ... anything Computerized they can get viruses Mobile Phones they also can get viruses!!

Dude get Kaspersky antivirus its kind of expensive i paid like 80$ for it 2 years ago but it is WELL worth it

AVG Anti-Virus Software i recommend and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Software.

AVG Anti-Virus Software is free but if you want better AVG you have to buy it!

Wow I just did some checking and Norton has a lot of website that sell plagiarized (Think I spelled that right) stuff and run scams marked as safe websites.
Norton is just a complete failure.
I have heard a lot about AVG I think I will try it soon once I get rid of the epic failure known as Norton

I have a virus called AntiVirus LIVE. Here's what happened:

Once upon a time there was a company who made stuff to kill virus's. The Boss said "Hey let's make something to protect people from The Trojan Virus Thingy!!" So they did.

a few months later the boss found out only 1 of their products had been sold. And that was for a 99% off junk sale at Myers. so they had only made 50 cents.

The Boss went SpAZ and asked all his workers what to do. Then some dummy said " HAY BOZZ!!! LET'S MAKE A VIRUS THAT WILL INFECT LOT'S OF COMPUTERS AND THEN SAY " BUY OUR PRODUCT " AND PRETEND WE DIDN'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!! THEN WE WILL MAKE MONEEEEEEEYYYY!

The Boss thought it was a great idea.

So they made a virus that screwed up your computer and said " BUY ANTIVIRUS LIVE. HELPS ELIMATE VIRUS'S ON YOUR COMPUTER AND KEEPS YOUR COMPUTER SAFE FROM TROJANS."

But some dudes ( like me ) knew it was a trick so i fought the virus and i've almost won!! WISH ME LUCK!!!

I got Zone Alarm Anti-Virus.
Does a good job, for all I needed from it is to keep my pc safe. Really I think the one you choose is your descion to decide the one with you.
I hope you win man, just bye a program in a store and it'll take care of it.

Avg and Avast are very good (the best for me....If I were u I'd get AVG probably the best anti virus I've ever used).

I've just downloaded Avira and I dont know much about it (but till now I dont complain).

Norton is to heavy but its very good (the best in world i guess).

McAfee is a crap dont get it.

AVG has worked well in my experience but it has been known to slow the machine down. Also, I think everyone knows this but if you get a virus or anything and a message comes up asking if you want to activate your anti-virus software get out of it and shut down, cutting power to the machine if you must. It's also good to know how to find and use your restore point, but if you click yes you get to spend at least two and a half hours rebuilding your entire computer after you are forced to delete EVERYTHING!
