How many of you think that there is life on other planets.
If you do, say why, and when we will find them.
If not, say why not
Also, this is about beings that have intelligent thought not bacteria or plants but a living breathing being. Plants would not be a bad point of discussion though...
As in all my threads, please, no spamming but be scientific.
the fact that our galaxy is such a miniscule fraction in our universe makes it hard to believe that earth could possibly be the only planet in the entire universe that contains life.
Wow there is alot of agreement in this thread lol.....
And I'm not gonna change that; the scale of this universe makes it so hard to believe that inteligent life hasn't evolved elsewhere in another galaxy or solar system etc. I would like to say that I do NOT believe that any kind of inteligent life has made "contact" or anally probed us (by us I of course mean hill billies >_> ..... If there is inteligent life I don't think the closest it is likely to be is dozens of light years away.
We? The only intelligent being's in the whole universe? That is so not true, how can we be the only ones with life? Come on, why do people tell that they saw a strange light, or a ship with lights that disappear at the blink of an eye, and why have not only 2 have seen them together? Yes, the possibilities of life on another planet are of 900,000 to 1 million.
The laws of probability blah blah... There has to be. Sentient life on the other hand, and this close to earth to make most sci-fi plausible? Not likely enough to make me exchange the knife under my pillow with the eagle in my closet.
I think that there's life on other planets, but those planets might be awfully far away so it might take a lot of time before we have the right technology to reach them.
