How many of you think that there is life on other planets.

If you do, say why, and when we will find them.

If not, say why not

Also, this is about beings that have intelligent thought not bacteria or plants but a living breathing being. Plants would not be a bad point of discussion though...

As in all my threads, please, no spamming but be scientific.

the universe is so vast there is just no way we are alone... i don't think we will ever actually go to them but i think we might be able to see them with a good telescope. We will never be able to go to them because you would have to go faster than the speed of light to get there in a reasonable amount of time, and we are not yet sure if that is possible

If that were true than Hubble would have seen them long ago.

Why not?

There's always a possibility with an in-definite universe.

the hubble is going to be replaced pretty soon, and we will be able to see further than the hubble was able to see. and its not the telescope alone that does it, its also who's manning it.

I certainly HOPE there's life on other worlds.. it would be rather lonely if there isn't...

And we wouldn't have anywhere to evacuate if the world just suddenly went into an apocalyptic state.

What about if we set up colonies on other planets?

Of course there is, haven't you ever seen Star Wars? xD I hope they discover a galaxy like Star Wars... I would SO move there.

As would I... As would I, would take a while to get there though, barring Charon ISN'T a mass relay...

Anyone want to take a guess on what percent of the universe we've explored up to this date?

That would take way too many zeroes... Take a few hundred pages with one post.

And the chance that we would find life on other planets is 100% minus that number.

Some guy made a formula about the probability of finding sentient life... Can't seem to remember who it was though.

Maybe google has answers but I have no idea what this formula you are talking about is...
