Is this a joke? Of course, you can use cheat codes but you will never learn to play a game that way. For example: Counter Strike, you can use cheats but you will never turn into a good player. But for offline games such as GTA, sure, use the cheats if you're bored, but i always prefer completing the game before. . .
I also agree with Rale_King. in GTA i have cheated and got a tank, and my bullet-proof armour is so high from the cop mission things. He is the cheat for the Rhino(Tank) in GTA Vice City:CIRCLE, CIRCLE, L1, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, L1, L2, R1, TRIANGLE, CIRCLE, TRIANGLE.
If you want to say cheat codes are good or bad, you have to judge it from the point of using cheats and their effects.
I think cheat codes for "most" games are bad. The best reasonable game using cheat codes is only GTA. But if it only used for fun an NOT for ADVANTAGE of a game the its fair. Like in L4D, you want to try killing 100 witch or have fun falcon punched by a tank then you will have to use cheats.
Bottom line, cheat codes that are used for advantage is bad but for fun only or help (ex:GTA) its good.
it depends on whether you're using them after you beat the game or if you are trying to get through the game. after the game they're fun, using them to get through a game is just plain cheap.
well cheating is fun somethings like in gta but ethier way its not bad i only use cheatcodes and glitches and stuff only if theres a part of the game i cant beat and after i cheat and beat that part i stop cheating
It depends on the type of person you are, if you like to play the game for real, don't, if you like to get stuff early "impatient", then you are the type who uses them.
Did not take time to read through the 5 pages of responses, so, i apologize if this has been said previously.
In my opinion cheat codes are neither good or bad. Like everything they have their good and bad sides. Like the unlock-able cheat codes in some games or given at the end of games, since you had already defeated the game without the cheat codes then the cheat codes in that instance would be purely to keep the player playing.
And like what do you define as a "cheat code"? like i said before, if a game designer meant to put them in the game then its ethically right to go ahead and use them since they are to everyone's disposal not just yours. But of course there are those bugs and glitches that people find and abuse to gain weapons, ammo, points, etc. But would that really be considered a cheat code, probably not.
Back to the main question are they good or bad? They are good in the sense that it keeps the player playing the game longer than if there weren't any cheat codes. They are bad in the sense that people often at times use found cheat codes, not clearly intended for use, and abuse them to get themselves ahead of other people unfairly.
I'd have to say no, because when you are trying to beat a game legit, it's always so tempting to use cheats anyways, *cough cough GTA* But when you're messing around and you already beat the game, they are deffinitly good.
