I strongly think they are. if you are monarchy you can make hovers (or chronites, which I prefer because its faster and in the long run, stronger) but the way the game is made is to keep every strategy weak against something, like for example: Outpost strategies usually come to hovers or snipers (i play in safe skies because im not a queen noob so i wont talk about that) and their weakness is the air and they need a partner to make sakatas to help. forging usually goes more around phantoms, roman charges, spider attacks, and sometimes, I haven't seen it recently, but gladiators. Their weakness for ground is hovers and for air is sakatas. both have weaknesses. my new strategy (im not going to tell you everything about it so people dont abuse it) besides forging is to be monarchy and build to get a certain way to get a LOT of chronites. because they have large splash, they can hit hovers in one burst and do insane damage, and with medics behind them, they're beast. The only downside is that phantoms can do some pretty heavy damage to them so i make a sphinx. not only does the sphinx beat hovers and other special armors but its anti air looks like a sniper bullet, but its more powerful, its faster, and i think it has splash damage. it makes my strategy bullet-proof unless the enemy rushes, but i'm a level 10 (Jason) and im smart enough to defend against rushes with chronites if i see one coming. You might argue, oh but light attacks from romans and marines (etc.) can kill it so easy! but if you think of it from my perspective, the chronites kill all light attacks in a burst which makes it so they cant reach the sphinx. this makes them almost untouchable, and with medics behind it, it really is unstoppable. Ideas to stop this are: 1) make sphinx range to air much shorter, the length of a marines missile. 2) make the shot weaker and have less speed. 3)If there is splash damage, shorten it or get rid of it. 4) cancel its ranged attack. These listed would make my strategy vulnerable to the air the way it should be so i can counter with the best anti air (in safe skies) that an outpost can make, groditz. this brings me to my next subject, the underused, and underpowered, groditz. These supposedly have chronite armor. i don't notice it. The require an armory, they take a pretty long time, i think its longer then chronites, they are effective against air to a degree but they can be beated by a chronite attack. i think Groditz are underused because they are EXTREMELY underpowered for their cost, time build, requirements to make, etc. and they need a major power up. here is a list of idea i think would help out groditz. 1)Instead of carrying machine guns, the could carry cannons that phantoms have, more ground impact and stronger. 2)Stronger armor/more health so they could hold their own. 3)Faster build time. 4)A bit longer range, maybe the range of a sniper? 5)Faster machine guns. 6)Have the legs of the Groditz to carry shock absorbing material making the phantoms ground impact and splash from everything less. 7)Maybe a bit more speed, like a marine's speed at least. Those are my ideas for the Groditz. Unlike the sphinxes idea though, I think it would take a combination of some of these to make the hold their own, ideas: "1, 4, and 6" together would do good, maybe even all, maybe all but one, i don't know but what i do know is that they NEED a power boost. More damage, range, and the armor/shock absorption would really help. Please comment if you agree or disagree on both of these ideas (sphinx and groditz) and please tell me your ideas to add or take away power. It would be very appreciated.
I'm not the one who mentioned checks and balances o.0
Chronite Tanks only own Groditz when there are upwards of TEN Tanks. That's a lot of tanks >.> Before then, Tanks basically have no effect against Groditz (who can outrange them, are faster, and can also get Medic support just like tanks). A proper ratio of Groditz:Tanks will mean Groditz will always win.
Of course, an HP buff will be HUGE Seeing as how they are already powerful, I can't wait until the old "Spam Groditz" builds come back ^_^
I'm glad that Monarchy is going to be readjusted (I recommend cash income to be changed from 4 to 3), as well as Sphynxes becoming a more powerful Anti-Air. A nerf to Prides will be giant, as well o.0 No more Bank Ops fast-Pride rush
Shpinx should be a less powerful AA because of how good they are at anti ground and air, and hey zeke, wanna meet up in jezul and do chronites vs hovers with a 2 to 1 ratio and see which wins then do a 3 to 1 and see which wins if the chronites dont win at the 2 to 1. well do 1 to 1 first but i think chronites would lose that. people dont understand the power of them. They are easier to make, you can make them so much earlier, you can make infinite with a hospital, a bank, and communists, they really are underused :P well anyways groditz need the boost... they really do to be anything good. like snipers dont need an armory and they can beat even hovers with skill. i think groditz should be deadly with skill :P but yeah zeke wanna go on colony now and meet me in jetzul? my name in colony is Jason or Jas0n
Personally, I'd like the Sphynx not to be a straight up AA unit. It was designed to be anti special, and I think it fits it's role well.
Sphinx AA plus ground chronites or hovers is really hard to stop. sphinx themselves are walls but with chronties for anti light (or hovers) yeah :P but krin thanks for listening
One sort of... you need to have two people that know what they will do. In normal game situations, you and your partner are usually random and dont know eachother and that usually wont happen but yeah snipers could beat them unless they had a steady flow of medics, and thats alone, what if the sphinx guy had a partner with phantoms.. :P its still the hardest thing to beat and im really glad krins taking action
Also, there is still a very old problem: the underpower of Sakata spiders (i.e. the anti-ground one) and the gladiator.
Fix the spider: 1) Increase the range. When spiders meet hovers, spiders are pwned before they can shoot. 2) Either make them have special armor or increase their hp. It's unbelievable that they can't withstand a missile.
Fix the gladiator: 1) Just lower the price. It is too expensive compared to a pride. 2) Make it faster to build.
Just because the spiders and glads are underpowered, many players have not touched the "upgrade to mechanic terminal" in the manufactory since the last year.

You are entirely correct. instead of using spiders for anti ground i use phantoms. romans, they're good, but yeah the 40 10 and 40 cost of them makes them so much overpriced based on how good they are. they need to have the range of a sniper, cost 20 20 20 and be made faster
yeah but if you compare units from forge to outpost, sakatas used as a backup? really? about 6 is needed to shoot down a swarm of fliers... phantoms on the other hand need about 10 to stop a wave of hovers without anti air. when it comes to snipers they are great! they can move, pot shot, retreat, reload, repeat... the groditz... they are slow, they have pretty bad damage to air and little splash to air, i would rather herd in 20 marines to just shoot da missiles at the swarm :P snipers can hold their own with numbers, so can a phantom sakata mix but when it comes to groditz? you cant really mix them with snipers because of the speed differences and the snipers can do anything that groditz can do but better...

You seem to think that every unit needs to be balanced.
