Battlefield Bad Company 2,
fable 2
007 nightfire
gta san andreas
god of war 1,2 and 3
Just Cause 2
Fable: The Lost Chapters
Age Of Empires III
Mass Effect 2
Those are my tens, but I need to chip 1 in - Age of Mytholology. Oh and all others in the Age of Empires Series really.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 - Not some failing fluke like on MW2, it takes more finesse and style (aswell as teamwork and strategy)
Fable 2 - Awesome RPG that the first actually taught me somethings (morals, anyone?), or atleast helped me learn them myself. Also the replayability (how many combinations again?
) is just epic.
007 Nightfire - It's actually got a few interesting mechanics and guns which not even MW2 has (or Battlefield, for that matter). Lazer Sights is what anyone would give to have in their guns but they never get given it, oh and moving objects (Skyrail maybe?
)
GTA San Andreas - Mostly the cheats and drive-by's with friends, also the freedom you get on there which is really good. Don't respect the campaign or the setting whatsoever, mind you.
God of War - The fight scenes, awesome. It's just classic and unlike "100HP, get it down to 0HP" it's more realistic in that attacks are more specific and deadly but also must be timed well.
Just Cause - Freedom, the guns, attacking enemies, amazing explosives and a grapple = 10
Fable: The Lost Chapters - Taught me valuable lessons (or helped me learn them), and the theme is just so epic, I love how they done the whole thing (I suppose I liked the theme better than Fable 2).
Age of Empires III - Campaigns (especially with expansions) are awesome and good for education (to a degree, ofcourse). There's also a library of text in a certain menu in Age of Empires that tells you about every single thing in the game. Including tree types I think. (Aztec, Mayans, Spanish, British, Scottish Highlanders, anything in the game)
Mass Effect 2 - Not really a game, it was kinda more like a movie, but a very very interesting one at that. I appreciate the work they done into it and the minor RPG system to help longevitiy / replayability. Graphics are stunning and I appreciate the classes they created as well.
Age of Mythology - Also part of the Age of Empries Series (Spinoff), with great insight into the mythologies of Greeks, Norse, Egyptians (and Atlanteans in the expansion), it also helped my understanding of Stargate SG-1 (it's also mythological on so many more levels). The gameplay and units are inspired by these myths and are all balanced properly. The best feature was the map editor, triggers were easy to use (once you grasped using them), and it's really cool playing your own maps.
There's also a very old game - Operation Flashpoint, which is a 10 simply because it had a few things which some shooters don't have today, destructible ground, it wasn't well made back in the game but it was a concept will ignroed until YEARS later. Also the squad movement where you have vehicles and it seemed more army like too with the outfits etc. I'm gonna go play it now
