Haiku contest entry


Peace, Virtue, and Love
Residing in harmony
Anger, Hate, and War

Tow Haiku from a while back:

Theme: Fire

Roaring and crackling
Casting shadows, flinging sparks
Logs burning, smoke drifts

Theme: Addiction

Inhaling white smoke
Coughing, hacking. Lungs spasm
Cancerous growths build

I don't blame you, it's not exactly pleasant, just all of my negative feelings for cigarettes packed into a few words, or at least that's what the goal was.

Thank you. I have another one in the works, but I've been having trouble working on it due to alternate activities.

Results

Crushing depression
Overpowering rage
Unrestrained curiosity

All in the blink of an eye
Each overpowered by the other
An endless cycle

Heartrending slump
Unstoppable umbrage
Insatiable hunger

Conflicting responses
Emotional tolls
A burden far too heavy

My entry for the poetry contest.

Epic

Unwilling tool, pawn of fate,
Destiny not chosen, but decreed.
A conquest without victory.

The call of prophecy,
The mistake of a god,
An inexorable meeting.

The day draws near,
War is on the horizon.
A cursed destiny calls.

Forged in the fires of conflict,
Tempered by toil and suffering
A hero must come forth.

Perhaps a gallant prince,
Or a humble serving girl.
They exist in all ways and forms.

They set out for the fields of war,
Leading an army of virtue.
Facing an impossible enemy.

nice job kyouzou, I really think that these poems mean a lot of reflection to me, and show a true, deep meaning.

This was a draft for the poetry contest, Hurts Like Heaven, although I hadn't gotten it written before the deadline. So here you are:

Distant Love

Warmth in my breast,
Peace in my mind,
Euphoria in my soul.

I know not sorrow,
I know nothing of pain,
I am invincible.

How she drives me onwards,
My guide in the darkness,
A companion in the cold.

Even now I hear her siren song.
The echoing voice of my love,
So distant, yet unbearably near.

The heart rending agony,
A pain never before felt.
Heaven is burning.

Some of these look like they would work well as a song. If I knew anything about production then I would probably of done it.

As of today, I will no longer be posting any work in this thread, rather everything will be posted through my Figment profile. It's a great site, you should definitely explore it when you have the time.
