This should be an interesting game to play. The Assassin's Creed franchise has really rebounded from the poor performance of ACI. Brotherhood should capatalize on a few of ACII's weak points, namely what I felt to be a fairly repetitive combat system, and a mini map that displays where you've been even if you haven't used a lookout point. Furthermore, I've done some watching on their site and I am please to see that the player can gain access to a crossbow. I love ranged weapons, so this should definately improve assassinations.

@Wolf1991, completely agree. Assassins Creed I had great potential, but was a bit of a letdown in terms of gameplay, which was extremely repetitive. The story kept me going though. ACII kept the good points of AC1 such as story, and capitalised by adding better combat and immersive gameplay. Now Brotherhood has even more, as well as a multiplayer. Can't wait, I've pre ordered the Limited Codex Edition should be awwwwwesome

Multiplayer looks really good and the story is good.

What I am hoping to see more of:
Fluid, intuitive free-running system
Beautiful environments
Extensive history

What I am hoping to see less of:
Mindless, repetitive combat
Arm-mounted pistols (wtf?)

That said, I'm hella getting it.

Arm-mounted pistols

I never found much use for it, but it was really fun to use when I did, kinda slow though...

Has anyone seen the launch trailer?

Yep. I've also watched videos saying that the combat has become more aggressive, meaning you can't simply wait around and counter attack or you'll be turned into paste. Papal Guards!

I remember the day I pre-ordered ACB. I was such a fan of the first two games that I knew I would want the third game. I ended up pre-ordering the collector's edition the day it was announced! I did not plan that.

As everyone else has mentioned, AC1 was very repetitive and AC2 really fixed that issue. AC1 had amazing game play and AC2 improved upon it very well.

I am sad that beta was for PS3 only.

I hope they will improve fighting mode which gets really boring over the time.
I'm kinda pissed that the PC version isn't coming out this year though...

PC versions of games rarely come out at the same time as console versions.

I hope they will improve fighting mode which gets really boring over the time.

The combat system was improved greatly in Assassin's Creed 2. You can expect to see even more improvement in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.

In Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2, you traveled to various different cities. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood will, however, take place almost entirely in Rome. Don't worry though, Rome is insanely huge and divided into many different districts. What does this have to do with combat?

ACB will allow you to ride horses within Rome itself. You will be able to attack other mounted guards and steal their horse. You will also have access to a parachute that Leonardo De Vince designed. You will now be able to attack enemies from the air. You will also be able to have other assassins attack groups of enemies for you.

Most importantly, the basic combat system has been changed. You should read the article I linked. To sum it up, guards will now attack more often as well as at the same time, and Ezio will be able to link counter kills together. Fights should not last nearly as long, but they should be much more exciting.

I just finished AC2 about ten minutes ago and I can't wait for Brotherhood; unfortunatly I also I want to purchase Black Ops and even more unfortunate I can only afford one or the other. My decision will depend on how good ACB's multiplayer is and how long it can keep me playing.

I think AC: Brotherhood won't be as good as the hype promises.
Keep in mind, AC: Brotherhood won't improve the fighting too much.
You just get a team and I've read really bad about it.
I am sceptical about it, because it might be just something like an add-on, and you would pay the price for a full game.
Don't get scared due to my opinion, I'm a very sceptical gamer
I take a look on every detail and so it comes that my opinions are often different to what the majority of people thinks.

For the german readers, heres a Link to an article about the fascination of Assassin's Creed.
Read Assassin's Creed: Faszination der Erfolgsreihe.
I apologize for having only a german article.
But here are the facts why Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is that good.
It's good because of...
1. the open world
2. the story about Desmond Miles
3. the historical reference
4. the interaction with the populace
5. the loyal horse
etc..

There are positive aspects about the game too.
It has nice graphics and I'm sure the controls will be as easy as they were before.

The verdict: Read a few articles or read the article I provided for you if you're german, watch a few gameplays and decide for yourself.
I give you the advice to buy this game if you missed AC: 2.
If you enjoyed AC: 2 I am not sure whether giving you the advice to buy it or not.
