Its a very good movie, probably because they cut the whole thing in half so they didn't lose out to much on detail. They also picked a good spot to end it at.

I have mixed thoughts about this movie. If you haven't read the book, do that first, then see the movie.
If you don't, you'll most likely end up dazed and confused, even if you've seen the franchise's predecessors.
Even so, the movie seemed a bit aimless and pointless-not much of a plot, not much of anything. Despite that, it's still brilliant in my book, and is a great movie. I highly recommend it.
7/10

Sorry for saying that my mate must have got it wrong. I asked someone else about it today and apparently harry is shirtless and thats pretty much it so nothing to worry about. Im gunna watch it tonight and ver suprisingly im kinda looking foward too it (against my better judgment)

Harry shirtless or Hermione shirtless? BIG DIFFRENCE.

Actually both were shirtless but you couldn't see anything. It was a pretty awesome movie I thought. They ended it in a good place too. The animation for that story was awesome.

Well I just saw it a couple hours ago. Then again some people see things that aren't there.

What exactly do you mean by *spoiler*

Just saw it yesterday and it was pretty epic. The movie skipped some of the details but that was alright.

I thought the movie ended at a right place, though I thought the movie would end when they finished *spoiler having to do with something about death, and a knife*.

I hope that didn't give away too much.

You may have to sit down for this one its gunna be a long one.
*Spoilers* Okay so i saw it on Wednesday and I thought it was pretty good. It was by far the best one and there were a couple of really good scenes. Like the little animation, the ministry bit and when Dobby died (i cried :C).But as ive mentioned before im a big fan of the books (this one in particular) so i think they did miss out/rush some moving and important moments. like:

-When Dudley told Harry he actually liked him
-When Creature told them about how Regulous died (that was really sad)
-The whole thing about Dumbledore and Grindlewald being freinds (they might explain that in part 2)
-Bill and Fluers wedding (my friend who hasnt read the books had no idea what was going on then)

There were a few more little things that i can see why they missed out but these scences i feel should have been put in/extended. But overall it was a good scene with some cool action and im looking foward to part 2. However i thinK the bottom line is your best option is to just read the book. Oh and the Harry and Hermione scene DISTURBING OR WHAT??!!! i was actually cringing :S

Having only read the book twice (first right after it came out, second sorta skimmy some time later), I didn't at all remember funky details (like the ones assassin89 mentioned), so I had this wonderful opportunity to watch it without grinding my teeth over stuff missing.

And I think it was absolutely spectacular.

A few parts felt a bit rushed, a few seemed oddly out of place, but pretty much everything was just... Neat. I think they told a version of the story really well and chose a very good point to break off part one (approximately 5 minutes after I'd started thinking "yeahhh, they're gonna end it in a moment&quot.

Loved it. Wanna reread the book, though, cos I think I loved it more and all the details are way awesome.

I read the books...way back when. Like, I read the seventh book the moment it came out, so quite some time ago. What I'm saying is, don't kill me if my memories of the book aren't entirely accurate, because it's been a while and by now I'm like old and crotchety on the subject.

Now, I think the main concern among fans about this movie has been how loyal will it be to the book? And my response; it is very good about sticking to the book, however there are a few parts it chopped off that I thought were rather important. These being (1)Dudley and the Dursleys telling Harry goodbye, and how Dudley and Petunia were shown to actually care for Harry. In the movie, I don't think it even mentioned the Dursleys really. (2)How Harry, Hermione, and Ron reconciled with Kreacher and they became friends. I really liked this, I thought it was touching in the book, but in the movie, Kreacher hated them throughout and they never even tried to make amends with him. (3)The scene when Xenophilius Lovegood tries to turn them in to the Death Eaters. If you'll recall, in the book Hermione makes sure to let the Death Eaters see Harry and she before they leave so that they[the Death Eaters] know that Mr. Lovegood wasn't lying. This is very considerate of her, and it also ascertains that the Death Eaters won't kill Xenophilius or Luna. In the movie, Hermione and Harry just Apparate away without a second thought about the Lovegoods' safety. And (4)in the book Rufus Scrimgeour comes to visit on Harry's seventeenth birthday and he wants Harry to give the appearance that he's working for the Ministry of Magic so that people will feel reassured, even attempting to bribe Harry into doing so by offering to get him in touch with the head of the Aurors. Harry promptly tells him to stick it up his ***(although not in so many words). Still, overall the movie was loyal to the book, with some minor additions(I might be mistaken, but I don't think Bellatrix ever tortured Hermione in the book).
As for the rest? Well, yes, there is a scene with nudity but it's short and no bits and pieces are shown, so for those of you who are worried about it, I don't think your parents will really have a problem.
I think they did a particularly good job with the scene where Harry and Ron get the Sword of Gryffindor. Excellently done, and I must say that the scene in the movie was nearly identical to how I pictured it in my head when reading. Magnificent.
Terrific acting as well, for the most part. The cutscene with the story of the Three Brothers was fun, I liked how they depicted that.
Bottom line, I'd recommend this movie to anyone, book fans or not.

On the nudity...
You could post screenshots of it on AG, that's how tame it was. There's bloody bits in the movie that would be less alright to toss around here. Parents may be silly when judging nudity against violence, but... Dude. :x
