And I'd say most of the games on the PS1 and older systems like the Nintendo64 and super Nintendo. With that I would have to include these games: Spyro Lara Croft: Tomb Raider Duke Nukem Mario games Mortal Kombat Pacman
All of those are great classics that I still find myself playing. I just can't stop playing the games that I played when I was younger.
The very first game that EVER game out was the game PONG. It is still the base of a lot of games, such as the game ReflexION which is under the Arcade section of AG, and provided people with hours of fun when it first came out. That is the most classic game.
I think doom is one of the most classic games of all time but I can think of 10 more classics too like spyro, banjo kazooie, sonic, metal slug, super mario, contra, galaga, legend of zelda, golden eye, and ultima
Funny no one has mentioned the first Pokemon game for Game Boy Color... that was the beginning of the dynasty of what is the most popular of any game in the world
Too bad nobody here has a ****ing clue what I'm talking about. All you people play is CoD, Halo, and childish nintendo games that grew stale after their 15th iteration.
Let's get some classics: Pong, Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros, LoZ, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem 3D, Final Fantasy, Pac-Man yeaaah...
Classic depends on the context I suppose. Genres have their "classic" or archetypal game. Then there are the classics that are classics because they're old.
