What's the most emotional experience you had in a video game? For me when I was playing Fallout: New Vegas and I was in the Nipton town hall and "Johnny Guitar" played on my radio. Having that sad song in the creepy building kind of made me scared and sad at the same time. And I admit I was almost going to cry when the song was about over.

I hate it when a main character is killed in a brutal manner, or sacrifices themselves for you.

I was playing Half Life 2 (PC), and I saw a random alien corpse and my friend just out of the room, screaming. Couldn't stop laughing for an hour.

Yeah, or our partner like Grovyle in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.

Something reminded me when you said main character gets killed. It's not the same but kind of close.

When playing any of the Dynasty Warriors games on multiplayer with a friend it's hard to stay alive when my friend doesn't exactly know how to play well. And when he dies we have to restart the whole mission. It's made me pretty mad seeing that we were half way through the game and we forgot to save then he dies and we had to restart.

BIOSHOCK SPOILER DOWN THERE

Hmmmm . . . beating Andrew Ryan to death with a golf club. My jaw dropped to the floor during that entire scene. All of it, from the conversation to the attacking to the end was just perfectly done to induce a feeling of shock and awe.

And also the COD: MW campaign, when you're crawling around after the nuke. Same situation as above: my jaw dropped during the whole scene. Beautifully well-done.

3. when grovyle from pokemon mystery dungeon sacrificed himself and went back to the future. that was like grovyle dieing for me. i really liked him in the game and it got me really mad when they were happy about the main character coming back but didnt even mention grovyle one.

The best experiences I've had in games are where you forget about a character earlier in the series (or in the same game), and then he comes back either weak, rambo or silent. It is amazing to see one of your favourite characters (usually the type who everybody likes or the type who nobody can hate) come back from the dead in such a great fashion - especially when their personality kind of changes too.

Cpt Price coming back in Modern Warfare 2 was NOT one of those times, mind you.

If Gaz was a cybernetic silent motherkiller, then I would be more appreciative, even though it would completely undermine the already-ruined story.

Gaz from CoD4 btw, I wouldn't care much for Ghost, since he was kinda new and also still in your head whilst playing the game.

I can't pull out an example from the last time my kind of emotional experience happened.

Actually my best ones are from players who are awesome in a personality-sense on Multiplayer and we constantly help eachother when in need. The most interesting thing is that we do so completely on accident or on instinct without any indication from the other player. It was quite amazing really when I was playing Battlefield Bad Company 2, I have 2 situations which was amazing, both from different (now added) players:

1) I was holding off the line by myself in Rush by 4 Assault / Medics and a Light Tank. I was hiding behind a fence when I took out 2 of the soldiers and the Tank turns his attention to me - I immediately crouch and begin crawling away from the fence as it gets obliterated, barely surviving. I was on the last inch of the fence when I was expecting to die, gutted about it nearly being the end of the game and dieing. Then, I hear an explosion behind me (my back was facing the fence), and I look back behind me to see IzzY knifing the last soldier behind the blasted wrecks of a BMT. This was on Hardcore (stupid find-game) and I walk up to him with a "Thanks", his character nods before a Hind starts shooting at us from afar and we run away in Unison.

Kinda like "that part" of the movie where someone is running away from a wall of fire, bullets or an explosion chasing them through a narrow area.

Wow.

Oh, and then there's number 2:

2) I was on that snowy map on Conquest, where there is the well filled partially with snow. I was there fending off quite a few enemies and they were coming from the 2 buildings, thus 2 sides. However I was being approached by someone on the opposite end of the warehous and he was about to knife me (I didn't know back then). Then, this guy, RuseLee (LOL btw) knifes him from behind, making me turn back to see what the hell just happened. Before I could type "Thanks" (turning out to be Tha--) I saw another enemy approaching behind him (from the same location the enemy approached me) and I instantly stand up to take him out. After that, we take a tag-team status and completely obliterate the enemy as they were so, sooooo confused with us constantly switching sides where they would go for one and the other would take them out. Ahhh man. Gotta love BFBC2...

Also done something like that on WoW, in the arena.

I've already had my fair share of rememberance though

Yesterday my emotion was anger.
I was playing Call Of Duty: Black ops and people would just hide in one spot and camp. Also I didn't like how the same missions kept playing over and over on multiplayer. The people were doing it to get some of us pissed. I mean just pick the random button. Don't click the same level over and over.
