I've been procrastinating on buying a new console (you know, distracted by ArmorGames 'n all).. I've heard good things about both, and both are now in my price range. Right now it seems like Xbox360 is the favorite, but in 5 years which one will be on top? I've always been a PlayStation person, and I feel like it could possibly make a comeback. My PlayStation is also my DVD player, so having that BlueRay would also be nice.. what are the upsides to the 360? And ultimately, which one is better?

I see as time passes I like different systems, in the 64 days I loved Nintendo, in the PS2/Gamecube/Xbox days I loved Sony, in the time of PSP/DS I still loved Sony, but now I have a crossroads. I do love how PS3 has Blu Ray, and a free online network, but I think that Xbox live is much more organized than Playstation Network. As for the Blu Ray I have DVD player in my PSP, how many do you think I need! I do admit that I love Ninja Gaiden 2 which is PS3 exclusive, but I also like COD4/COD5, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Skate(and in 4 days Skate 2!), and Halo3 was good for a while, and may I also mention Bioshock, Gears of War 2, and Rock Band 2!
So you say that we get the RROD, but that is repaired for free while if the PS3 stops working(don't say that it never will)it costs $170 dollars to fix, so I don't feel like giving up my 360 for something that will cost me $170 additional dollars after I buy it.
I must say that I'm amazed at how personally people seem to be taking this conversation, it's like there's two gangs; the 360s and the PS3s, and it sure is funny watching them insulting each other ;D.
They both are great. They both have great games and graphics. I think the PS3 has better graphics but the 360 has the better games. The PS3 is really expensive. The 360 has red rings of death. Its what you like and what you can afford. I personally think the 360 is better. I have a Wii though so I can't really talk.

first people say it breaks alot ive had mine 2 years hasnt broken yet and i even spilt pop in the filter lol
from what i remeber xbox 360 as of last year some time had 360 games while ps3 had under 200.
xbox 360's have a nice arcade systm setup.
xbox is cheeper.
the gamerscore makes it a fun way to compete with others.
down sides of the 360 though are u have to pay for live. but $50 a year isnt realy that bad. also if u want a xbox360 for the hddvd player dont blue ray won the compitition and hd gave up so they wont be making more movies.
Every PS3 person is talking of red ring of death... Its not a big problem anymore if you buy a new xbox 360. Microsoft has already fixed it...(I think.)
