I've been procrastinating on buying a new console (you know, distracted by ArmorGames 'n all).. I've heard good things about both, and both are now in my price range. Right now it seems like Xbox360 is the favorite, but in 5 years which one will be on top? I've always been a PlayStation person, and I feel like it could possibly make a comeback. My PlayStation is also my DVD player, so having that BlueRay would also be nice.. what are the upsides to the 360? And ultimately, which one is better?
PS3 has a barrage of GREAT games coming out this year that are exclusive like killzone 2 and little big planet and mgs4 guns of patriots plus better hardware inside the console and Xbox360 eventually has to switch to bluray which sony has exclusive rights to so ps3 could possibly get many xbox exclusive games!
It is a close fight lately, but the main points to realise is that the PS3 will be better - in a couple of years or so. That will be when developers can fully utilise the console's power. Buying a PS3 would safeguard for the future, with blu-ray and the what not.
I would get a PS3 now for the sole reason of FREE online play. I have a 360 myself, and the community seems to be the same online on both consoles. Yet I have to shell out 5 pounds a month for Xbox Live :O
