I think it looks like one of those marsh levels that are in some games. You know, that atmosphere that, should it ever appear in real life, would mean either alien attacks or that you have randomly been made part of a horror movie.
The air is murky and so is the water, if you eat the fish, you will die, if you don't, they fish might eat you.
That description goes well with the colour scheme in general, and the earth in particular.
