Hackers caused PSN to shutdown, but I'm really mad that it has taken Sony, a multi trillion dollar company, 3 (going on 4) DAYS to take care of the problem. That's a fail
stop arguing about who has better security. microsoft has more money then sony because they're microsoft and the reason they have more players is because halo got popular before cod and everyone got an xbox. anyways psn is down due to (probably) hackers and its taken 4 days now to get it back up. 4 days over an easter 3 day weekend. thats nice. anyone have news on when sony thinks they can get it back up?
We sincerely regret that PlayStation Network and Qriocity services have been suspended, and we are working around the clock to bring them both back online. Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure. Though this task is time-consuming, we decided it was worth the time necessary to provide the system with additional security.
I know it sucks that PSN is down over a three day weekend, but at least there making it better so it shouldn't happen again.
My good friend raged at Sony in a call (epic lulz) and they said it would take 3 weeks to finish all the maintenance.
They would never do an unplanned maintenance on their network for three weeks. if they were to do this they would at least announce it and do it bit by bit, even if they were hacked, they would be losing so much money
Not just any hackers... ANONYMOUS. Sony would be like us newbs trying to overthrow Facebook. They really just have to wait until Anonymous stops, or they make a better security system.
Anonymous is not some organisation. Anyone can post as Anonymous, this is just a bunch of kids who haven't a clue how to hack. Sony are the much bigger force. In fact, half the people on 4chan are laughing at these idiots, so yeah, there's no way Sony will have a problem crushing these kids once they've got their identities.
Since you have to pay for Xbox Live, you get more security from things like this :P Who's snickering now?
me cuz ps3 was the most inpenatrable system from hacking till geohot challenged himself to hack it so yeah im still snickering ps xbox was too easy for him btw
The Xbox live accounts (in the article) were stolen by a couple of petty thieves, where as PSN was shut down by probably the best hacker that ever lived. So Live has better security? I don't think so.
wow you totally contradicted yourself you said the accs were stolen by petty hackers ie rookies but psn was hacked by a super hacker (not my words yours k they were changed a little) yeah xbox has way more security
