I've been playing BF3 at my friend's house a lot and I love it. My favourite class is engineer because I use vehicles whenever I can. I've become a best with tanks and we've gotten to service star 2 with the main battle tank. You can get a lot of kills with a tank especially if you have a good teammate using the machine gun. It also helps to use the unlockable abilities to your advantage. I get the best result with canister shell, proximity scan and thermal vision. I also use the repair tool. You can get a lot more kills with just one tank if you keep fixing it.
I also like flying scout helicopters. I like them even more than attack helicopters since they are usually found in maps that don't have attack helicopters or jets. That way I can take down enemies and only have to worry about other scout helicopters and engineers with javelins or IGLAs. I'm not very good at flying jets but I still like it. It feels awesome to shoot down another jet.
My favourite game mode is definitely conquest. I don't think it's like Ghost described it at all. Especially if you use vehicles (which I mostly do) and work with your team. I don't play team deathmatch at all and rush pretty rarely.
My favourite maps are Noshahr Canals and Caspian Border. For some reason I can't stand Grand Bazaar or Tehran Highway. All other maps are fine.

Meh, it's different for everyone, depends on how you play. I honestly don't like that mode because you have to run miles to get to a flag station and sit there, then enemies come and you either die or survive. If you die then you have to restart. And I don't use the vehicles at all, I prefer using my little character with the guns. The vehicles aren't useful for me either. The whole point of conquest is to capture the stations, you don't have to kill people or anything unless you encounter them. Not to mention that mode takes 30+ minutes to complete, at least from what I've played of it.

Heh, it's actually the other way around for me. I've already mentioned that I don't really like the box levels, but now they seem decent since I have a good shotgun. I've never been a fan of Caspian Border, most people camp on the buildings, but it's a good sniping level. Just get to the back of the map and snipe the people off the buildings. Grand Bazaar is one of my favorites - I love how the map is made, the scenery, and how challenging it is. Though it probably isn't to many if you get a sniper, but I don't use a sniper on that map often, I prefer using an assault rifle or shotgun. Tehran Highway is just a map to rack in a lot of kills if you play it right. You can either get a sniper and sit in the back of the map or get an SMG or assault rifle and flank them. I don't often go down the middle because they're all bunched up and you won't get a lot of kills that way usually.

Well, I unlocked the DAO-12 a few days ago and I've been using it ever since, one question though: Isn't this shotgun the striker? It looks like it and even fires like it, so I think so. Anyway, I'm starting to use the shotguns and snipers more, but only using the snipers on a few levels where I can find some good sniping spots and get a lot of kills. For me the shotguns are the best in the game since I rush around the maps looking for people, and I often get close to people, so it only takes one or two shots. It's especially fun on those levels where there are buildings and people camp in them (Seine Crossing and Operation Metro), once I get in one I usually find four people in a room and clear them out with the shotgun. Isn't the last shotgun unlock the USAS-12? I've seen some other high ranked players use it, but I haven't gotten it yet (currently at level 40), but it looks great, mainly because whenever I encounter someone with it they almost always kill me.
And I enjoy how fast the TDM matches are going now. A few weeks ago it would take around fifteen minutes just to get done, and now it's normally five-ten with full lobbies.
Alright, so I decided to start playing again a few hours ago and I'm currently at rank 43. I have the USAS-12 and it's a great shotgun, the range on it is great and it fires quickly. I just recently unlocked it, so I don't have any attachments for it yet. I've kind of been focusing more on my sniping, and I've been getting really good at it. I unlocked the SKS or whatever it's called about half an hour ago, the clips hold about 20-21 shots and it's fast, you don't even have to snipe all the time with this weapon, you can just take the large scope off and run around taking people out. But my favorite sniper right now is the SV98 if I want to sit in spots for a while, and I have the one thing where you don't have to scope out to shoot every shot.
And I've finally gotten my support class to the first service star, only one I have left to do is the recon one. Only two more ranks then I've reached the maximum I think (not counting the service stars or whatever you can get for continue playing). But I still haven't completed all of the coop missions, may do that once I reach rank 45.
I have a question though: I was looking through the weapon customization and there are several weapons in there that I don't have, I know that you unlock some through the coop missions, but is that all you have to do? I've seen some weapons like the famas and something that looks similar to the PP90M1 from MW3, but I don't think you get those from the coop. How am I supposed to get those?
