People who rush ruin the fun of colony, unless both parties agree to it, no one should rush.

This is not Star Craft. This is not Chess.

But i play both and i turned out fine in the colony community :P

I find it funny how times have changed. Back when the game was in its prime, nobody mentioned rushers, only a few had a problem. Let me remind everyone that the community as a whole was allot better during these times. Now building a unit in the first minutes gets you crucified. Without legends like me, new players can't learn basics. It's so funny how bad this community has gotten. (derp)

I do too XD but YOS u have to remember... most people didnt rush back then anyway due to lack of influence units and the higher tiers are stronger so people teched up often, now that influence units changed the game more and more people seek extra influence and what better way then to do what soccerdude said?

Now back to the topic of rushing. It is one of the many things that give out advantages, if you can get an advantage in the early game you can usually win in the late game. By rushing you can force your opponent out of the normal game play and set yourself up for some macro and deadly influence units. I personally like watching higher tech units going at it but i dont mass up a whole army. Ive had a couple of lucky games in which i managed to tech up and defend a rush at the same time. Then it takes more knowledge of the game because you have to learn counters not just throw out an anti air unit and hope it doesnt die before all your tanks do.

I know where this guy is coming from about how rushes suck but its an important aspect of the game and you'll just have to live with it for now.

Rushers. The one underlying reason to dislike rushers would be because they always beat you and getting beat = unhappiness. I mean, even I don't like it when somebody attacks early and beats me. Then again, I don't like it much when my opponent does nothing for 5 minutes but teching or something of the like just as much.
What I'd like to see is Colony evolving to where rushing is normal but rushes and rushes' counters can stay a close battle until a full tech-ed battle occurs. The strategy needed for that would be so real-time as opposed to using a pretty much preset strategy with your own ability at executing that strategy against others'.

Actually rushing was used allot back then. It was equal to tech-racing. The reason why rushing is so good now is influence units are cheaper, and broken.

gathering in a large group and charge like noobs !
From what I have seen of rushing strageties they are primarily only a few

build barracks, mass snipers, kill enemy
build outpost and hospital, rush with tanks and medics
build forge, rush scouts
build forge, rush romans.

The only one that requires really any management are 1 and 2
1: you need to keep snipers out of range
2:medics need cover, but you also do this with the big armies,

so how is it that you are much more skilled if you can charge units as fast as you can than if you build units that properly counter and don't rely on noob strageties like flood enemy with units or flood enemy with overpowered influence units. (either drop influence or make them more expensive.)

Of course, the rusher would most likely rage on you, then. Notice that a lot of rushers tend to fret over the slightest things, no matter how insignificant it may be.

Snipers are pretty powerful and can use that range to your advantage, and although you can counter tanks with scouts the other team can just pop out a few marines and destroy you. The easiest way most rushes are won is having more units than the other guy.

If the "rusher" was pro, first of all you wouldn't be able to counter it, second of all I really don't think they would rage on you...

I have never seen a bad rusher who I counter rage.

I agree with pos... i think you should play the game more before you start complaining.

Personally if they are going to go for mass snipers id just rush for queen and be called a hacker cause they think theres no way to get a queen in 2 minutes and 10 seconds. If they going mass scouts/roman shield go for sakata/scouts. If they going mass tank/meds scouts or queen. Mass romans is easy... just make 2 tanks then tech up to queen and kill the opponent for having no energy to do anything.

I watched a video on youtube that was supposed to be a champion ship, the guy won because he had more snipers than his opponent.

There is much more to it than that.

Making sure they're all in straight line, maybe sending some marines forward for a meat shield, holding the snipers at the precise moment to give maximum range, getting meds to heal your snipers and to set up a pin.

I don't know the exact video you're watching but I would guess that it would be bank post versus bank post.
