People who rush ruin the fun of colony, unless both parties agree to it, no one should rush.

Clearly he didn't watch my championship match where I lost the sniper war and came back for the win.
It was awhile ago and zachh was involved, but I am pretty sure yellow had a few extra sniper and dominated the entire match.

Making sure they're all in straight line, maybe sending some marines forward for a meat shield, holding the snipers at the precise moment to give maximum range, getting meds to heal your snipers and to set up a pin.
And that is so much micro management, if you actually compute how far away you need to hold you take the game too seriously. the medics and meat shield also applies to when you have two large armies going at it as well.

p.s. My main problem with rushers is when they ignore the hosts instructions and rush anyway, after all, the host did bother to make the game in the first place, give him some respect.

I don't think the false top pros calculate the hold position. They do it from experience, which is not taking the game seriously.

which they learned by paying close attention to where they fired, and since they were paying attention to that, they take the game to seriously.

my take on ranges.

sniper out ranges tank
marine out ranges roman
black queen has ultimate range (bombs only)
hover tanks, chronite tanks, sakatas, and A-28's have about the same range.

and that is all I need to know to have fun.

p.s. My main problem with rushers is when they ignore the hosts instructions and rush anyway, after all, the host did bother to make the game in the first place, give him some respect.

p.p.s. you can supposedly hack by pressing the hotkey of a unit, even when it doesn't show, you will still build the unit.

The problem is when the host says "no rushing" well after you've set up a good pin, not at the start of the match or even before the match.

and that is all I need to know to have fun.

well then....

let's ban queens from chess, because u keep getting fool's mated.
let's ban aces from poker because that guy got a royal flush.
let's ban putting in the middle in tic tac tow,
and let's ban speed bio in sonny, because of the withdrawal combo.

I don't think rushing is wrong, I don't think rushing is an option to be turned off.

I think that rushing is a critical part in the game, that keeps it from getting stale, and requiring no skill. if u lose against rushers, maybe YOU are doing something wrong.

I'm not even sure how u determine what a 'rush' is. making units at the start of the game is legitimate, and makes perfect sense. I don't think u can actually have a way of banning rushing, since u can cry wolf whenever someone makes a unit.

also, I don't think the host may 'ban' rushing, as he can't ban other strategies, such as fast BQ, or being monarchy. if u have a problem with 'rushers', make a game, set a time limit to unit production, and make sure all the players know and understand that limit. then watch as no pros join that game.

if u actually don't understand why people rush, and are wondering how they win that way, find a pro ingame, and ask them. also, be sure to ask about the influence zones, and the concept of pinning.

The Queen doesn't have ultimate range. The Far Sniper does.

so how is it that you are much more skilled if you can charge units as fast as you can than if you build units that properly counter and don't rely on noob strageties like flood enemy with units or flood enemy with overpowered influence units. (either drop influence or make them more expensive.)

You're making me think 'bout Suicidal ! How we should charge with units is another matter !

LOL Guesty The units from Arsenal will be "truly" weak against the units from Mechanic Terminal, especially Phantoms ! It's based on how u use Mk-II rightly and trickily !

The tanks, Jacen, they don't have the same range of fire ! Hover tanks own farthest range, nearly 5/6 snipers range, u can notice that we hardly use snipers to destroy them, but ur snipers "Ka-boom" !

lets ban changing game styles in colony, I am sure everyone likes to play eq, or dogfight, or ss every once in a while, but it doesn't matter, because the host isn't allowed to decide anything.

I disagree, mod sakatas are better than regular sakatas (according to the description), maintaining an outflow of spiders is easier than tanks, and I once saw my tank army destroyed by a sakata army of comparable size, in seconds.

You're completely misunderstanding guesty's point here. Nobody cares if you want to have games with time restrictions, but you need to understand that firstly, many people will not abide by them, and secondly, your skill as a player will be quite stagnant if you do so.
