People who rush ruin the fun of colony, unless both parties agree to it, no one should rush.

If the "rusher" was pro, first of all you wouldn't be able to counter it, second of all I really don't think they would rage on you...

I have never seen a bad rusher who I counter rage.

Meh. Rushers aren't always professionals but rather gamers who simply want to crush the opposition as fast as possible. I haven't had all of the rushers that I've met rage, but a notable percentage of them have done so should if I attempt to counter.

I disagree, mod sakatas are better than regular sakatas (according to the description), maintaining an outflow of spiders is easier than tanks, and I once saw my tank army destroyed by a sakata army of comparable size, in seconds.

No man ... I arranged it by Range of Fire ! If you're talking about their Power is another problem :
Modified Sakatas > Hover Tanks > Sakata Spiders > Groditz > Chronite Tanks

I find that most of "Ragers" are easily turned upside down, if they don't use "Advantages" well !

okay fine, you aren't a noob if you rush, but if you are not a gentleman if you ignore your hosts instructions, as he did host the game.

Please just shut up... if Krin didnt make it so that you couldnt rush, why should the host? Rushing is very important in the game. Its not rude or disrespectful not to obey them because they are taking out a major chunk of the games aspects.

And about hosting the game... who cares XD everyone can host games. Just because one host says no rushing doesnt mean they couldnt just leave the lobby and make a new game, besides it just as simple not to obey host.

I think most of the time when hosts say no rushing people do it more then when they dont. Ive played 10 games (recently) where people say no rushing and 9/10 of the games people have rushed. Then i played 30+ games where people dont mention it and guess what? Only like 18 games were when people rushed.

Just learn how to defend from a rush, dont try to get rid of it.

Honestly, if you want a game with no rushing (playing standard), play tech race games with trusted friends. It's that simple.

sorry, I didn't understand that that was what you were talking about.

p.s. sakatas still beat hovers.

Which is because people in this day an age don't know how to be gentlemen.

I have only played the same people (in different sessions) once or twice.

Well sir, having a lack of trustworthy friends on this game is a serious problem. However, the reason why this problem exists for you can be seen in your own post.

I fail to see what that has to do with me not having friends, but, the way a pro should act towards the noobs, otherwise they are a noob themselves.

Boromir : "Give them a moment, for pity's sake!"

Professional players on Colony aren't as... lenient as some of the other gamers out there. They're almost always unwilling to allow you to fight back, and if you're on their team they'll disregard you as if you were never even there.

In my opinion, the best way to improve would be to start with someone at your playing level. This is also the reason why I believe that some sort of playing tiers should be incorporated into Colony (similar to that of Exit Path 2).

I disagree with the second part of this.

First off though i agree with
They're almost always unwilling to allow you to fight back
. Most pros just get used to pinning the person down. I mean from the lobby u cant tell whether a person is a noob or not. Then when you get into game you make early pin and the havent made bank yet. So you just think they are afk so you kill them.

If i find someone struggling i try to help them come up with some strategy of some sort to at least give them some knowledge but most dont even bother trying it after i help them.

Also if most cases if you let them start building again you'll lose your lead... most of the time when i pin a newer player down its when i have like 2 hover tanks and 1 sakata because the rest were killed and they tell me to back away. First off if they cant beat that then they shouldnt be playing. Secondly if i did back up a few chronite tanks could kill that.

if you're on their team they'll disregard you as if you were never even there.

Well most of the time you tell them to make an outpost and they'll make a forge then upgrade it and complain that they cant get sakatas. I can dual build faster then most of them can get a barracks even while im helping them out. Its kind of frustrating that you are taking your time to help them out and u ignore them.

Thats just my thought... im pretty sure any pro that speaks on this forum would do the same as me. If you meet a pro that doesnt do this then hes probably not pro, just some person who beats new players to make him feel good about himself and then complain that his rank got reset after all the hardwork of 20 kills.

Sounds like 80% of the self-proclaimed &quotro" community.

Personally, I only troll when I play with randoms. Whether this involves fascist groditz or rushing for the 1v2 win depends on my mood.

Couldn't you just build some units as well.

p.s. Some of the &quotros" will act demeaning towards noobs, at least that is what I got from some of there tone.

So generally speaking, is "rushing" bad or not appropriate in strategy games ?
The trend on fighting styles in every strategy games are mostly fast making units and rushing ! Just like gaining Influences ! The slower you are, the higher prone to be defeated ! Everyone knows this !
*(Slow here I mean making units and buildings like Fortress ! It's hard to go help allies and soon be devastated ! Being criticized is inevitable)

You should play with me, then. I won't win the game for noobs, but I will keep them alive.
