Hi All,

Well after receiving a digital camera for my birthday, I have discovered the wonderful world of digital imagery...well...basically 400 photos a day...lol...(that was only on one day...)

So that brings me to the point of this Topic...basically, here is a place where you can share photos you have taken.

The only real rules are:

- Use constructive criticism only.
- Only add scaled down pictures...nothing that will be cut off...so either scale them on Photobucket or somewhere else.
- Add a link to a full size image for everyones viewing pleasure...
- You have to have taken the picture...copyright still exists.
- If you want to use the picture, then please contact the owner / photographer first.

I think that's all. Also, if there is enough interest then a photography competition may result...

So, without any further ado, I give you the first picture of the gallery...

My Cat Jaq

I took this photo when he was sitting on top of a water tank in our back yard. Yes, he is shaved and yes, he does have fat rolls...

NOTE : THE ABOVE IS A GOOD WAY TO SET OUT YOUR PHOTOS

So...Lets see what you've got...I wonder how long it will be till my amateur photography skills will be terribly crushed by someone with excellent skills...and a SLR camera!

@Carlie:

I don't know how to use Photoshop well enough for that sort of work. I'm just lucky enough to live in a very beautiful town. (And have a nice camera...F-stop of 3.0 on that one I think. Just an estimate though)

Kingryan, even if you have a point and click camera instead of an SLR, you should be able to adjust the shutter speed. Next to the button you click to take pictures, there should be a setting wheel. Shutter speed is either "S" or "T," depending on how the other settings are named.

High Shutter Speed=Single moment captured. Good for action shots in basketball and football, etc.

Low shutter speed=Lots of light let in. Good for showing movement in athletic events, water, or animals. However, you generally need a tripod for lower shutter speeds, because your hands will shake too much.

Sunset from the other day, taken from my backyard.

Also, the front view of the local golf course/restaurant, taken today:

And, finally, some berries I found, also taken today:

I really like the sunset color, and the silhouette looks awesome! And your macro is very clear. Great pics!

This was taken from a PA 28 a trainer aircraft from a few weeks ago, when i did some flight training for the air cadets. It is of the Thames Estuary. I like the pic.

This is of an england match i went to last year. Its of the statue of Bobby Moore but the mounted copper makes it look kl i think.

Hah! It works! I'm not a failure at uploading pictures! Yes. That is my basset hound, Eleanor Maybel Kennedy. We call her Ellie Mae. She had to have a respectable Southern name after all...

Next, this is a fire hydrant that needs tickets.

Your images aren't working because you're capitalizing the codes in the brackets.
