In the U.S. its probably true. But what does it matter, just because something popular doesn't mean its good. In fact, if you've ever dabbled in underground hip-hop/rap you'd know that 99% of the junk on the radio that 90% of your 70% listen to is absolute crap. Go underground/non-mainstream to find good rap and hip-hop...please. Kill radio rap, its an infection of soldier boys that is killing music....
Right here, I listin to Rap, though really if you do not like the music WHY come to all this trouble to post a comment in a fourm of something that YOU dislike?
And have you hard "Remember the name" by Fort Minor, incase you have not hear:
Incase you did not know, the vocalist of Linkin Park....
I would imagine not. Probably few people in the world's most populated nations, China and India, do. Some Europeans might, but I doubt you would even reach 40%. More primitive areas might not even have radio, or CD players. If you limit yourself to the U.S., again, no. Older citizens are an increasing portion of the population, and very (very) few of these enjoy rap and/or hip-hop. Huge chucks of the younger population like country, and pop. Face it, if 70% of the people were doing this, then that is where the money would be, and more (if not most) stations would play it on the radio. If, however, you limit yourself to the people you know... nah, probably still no.
che, rap and hip hop i gotta say are sad excuses for music... I mean there are the good ones: get low, grillz, ridin'... those are some good ones... but rap is just a normal beat with someguy talking and chattering up a storm about how he did some b'tch, or how hes gonna kill some guy, or how he's hiding in a closet because this chick he just did was married... You know some of the crappy stuff, mixed in with a good hook... Examples are when u hear some husky sounding guy talk, and then it changes to a girl singing about sumthing that has nothing to do with that fact that he was talking about... that is a hook lol.... R and B has turned into something awful in this day and age, with all these guys joining that music industry, making it blow sumthing awful. Jazz was amazing, and has changed into sumthing bad... Rock has changed drastically into something that is amazing... Rock is music... It involves a singer, a good beat, solo's, and most of all actual instruments... Therefore if it is true that 70% of people listen to that crap, im seriously disappointed in what this world has come to... But i dont think 70% of ppl do listen to that because RB2 and Gh has pretty much changed that... Ppl play the game, like a song and go and buy that cd....
