If you're talking about teens and young adults, then yes, I would say at least 70% listen to it, even if it's not they're favorite. If you count everybody, then no, because most people about 30 and over do not like that type of music. And if you think about it, the majority are middle age adults or above.

"favourite rock band/singer etc." "Rate the Metal song above you" "Dragonforce??????" Just in the first page. That's not true. On average, the music taste of Diehard-gamers is rock/metal/punk, etc. If you take the taste of every single person in the world, you'd see that all different genres get really small percentages, even rock.

Everyone knows, even you, that it takes lots of hard work and some talent to become either a singer, bandmember or rapper.
I'm really getting tired of all those people who hate on hip-hop and/or rap. Why do you spend so much time on hating on music that you don't like? Just spend that time on listening to the music you like, instead of offending others. You don't see topics of all those metal-bands being spammed full by people who like hip-hop, do you? Music-taste is very personal, and not everybody likes the same music. So what?
Well you overrate rap, rap is mostly popular for younger ppl but i thhink more than 30 % is a rocker ot mettler. I don't know that muhc people who listen to rap. I persoanlly prefer rock and metal, but my real life mate likes rap. i think eveyrhting is listened to, but it just depends on the folks you're talking about. Youngsters prefer hiphop in most cases, but older people dislike hiphop.
i agree with healmeal, way more than 30% of people like genre other than rap/hip-hop. that may just appear to be the case in some major cities like LA or san francisco -.-
