No, that is ridiculous. You mess up in a plane, you go doun. You mess up in a car, 7 people go down. You mess up in a plane, you have 3,000 feet to catch yourself You mess up in a car well... Your engine fails in a plane, you glide to earth. Your engine fails on earth you crash. Anybody can get a licence, but a pilot's licence takes hours of flight time. In a car, there is no control tower...
I think a plane is more dangerous than a car, but there are far more car crashes to plane ones, so it could go either way, but planes, I don't like, just really nervous when I am on one...
I think a plane is more dangerous because there are a lot more people riding a plane then a car but, there are more car accidents then plane so I think both are dangerous.
Just fyi, if you travel the same mileage in a car as a passenger in a commercial airline you are nearly 27x more likely to be in a fatal accident in a car. Think about that the next time you plan on going on a road trip as opposed to flying.
a plane is less dangerous i believe because your don't run into drunk plane drivers... well i guess you could but that is nearly immpossiable and planes are constantly checked for flaws unlike cars
neither is more deadly, but the situation you put yourself in. You dont HAVE to be in a car with a drunk driver. You dont HAVE to drive at night when your tired. But thats what people do and they die! Plus hundreds of people die a year in plane crashes. I mean landing or even flying a plane is not easy and two is recommended. If one person passes out it still is a lot of pressure on the other person as they have lives to save, and sometimes they know they cant do anything.
I don't know wether this has made me feel safer or more fearful to fly. I say planes are more dangerous. Not due to statstics that can prove otherwise, but because of the fear factors. You'll meet millions with a plane pobia and very little with a car phobia. I travel a lot by plane and it scares me everytime, although fireflys pilot talk is reassuring.
