Forums → The Tavern → Desktop or Laptop?

Desktop, because they are easy to upgrade, never overheat, have little maintenance, and are powerhouses.

Only prob is they aren't portable, like a laptop. I'm a gamer though, so I like desktops.

laptop is the best portable and they aren't too bad on gaming. The only problem I have is that when you get a gaming laptop it gets very hot.

I dont play those games that require the best crap out there such as a desktop with like 6G memory whatever. My 4G laptop does fine on most games, so I'ma say laptops better for more casual games and such.

desktops are better now... but in ten years laptops will be everywhere

I never used a laptop so i can't say what is better

Desktop

Mine has way more memory than most laptops and it performs even better than most upgraded laptops. As far as mobility goes a laptop is a lot better if it has quite a bit of memory and wireless internet, but I still prefer my desktop.

I agree, i know a laptops mobile but how are supposed to use outside of your house?

Desktop all the way. It will allways have better perfomance than laptops. Yes, laptops are "evolving" but I still believe desktop is the way for gamers and programmers.

Also, it's way easier to upgrade your desktop with new parts. So if you want to, you can, with ease, keep your desktop up to date all the time.

I like having a handy laptop though, it's nice when going on vacations where I need my e-mail and such.

I prefer a labtop when im on the go or if im going online for a bit but a destop can handle more and it has better performance.

Laptop, because you can carry it around with you. Though, I like the desktop also, because its better for gaming.
