So, since my last competition was pretty much a discussion, I'll now close that and move over to this general colony discussion (the others are all specific)
TALK ABOUT ANYTHING RELATED TO COLONY (and beef burgers)
Against few prides (-4) I send Romans in first to distract the Prides' fire and then send two Mod Phantoms slowly up until they're just within range to shoot. I usually get away with little damage, but it doesn't always work.
Ah, yes, I thought I had mentioned them. It's called Special Forces, btw. S-Marines are very powerful, and Medics don't make it easier for your opponent to break through the regen.
However, S-Marines are only very useful against Infantry and the occasional Air (when in large numbers), which is a shame. Prides can generally just be more effective against every unit overall, though. S-Rines are much more fragile, and you're in trouble if your medics are killed.
I think the biggest appeal for S-Rines is the fact that it comes stocked with Medics and Snipers, as well.
So, what about Far Snipers? They outrange every other unit in the game, and deal excellent damage, for being a light unit, to every ground unit other than Sphynx. Its biggest weakness is its frailty, although perhaps with Romans it can be made much more appealing.
I'm going to try and come up with a build that utilizes Far Snipers and Romans. The government will obviously be Monarchy, but the build order is hazy. It'll be either Forge or Bank first, since Gen first has gaping holes. Basically, the options are:
i think ur build should interchange between ur first and second ones. if you can tell hes going for a chronite pin or sommething like that, do build 1, otherwise biuld 2.
idk why you would go far snipes though.. i go special forces instead.
So, guys, what happened here around? :3 Few thingz O.o
But for now, i have some questions: Of crs u know the most pros of colony? Are they on ag too? Im mainly thinkin of bankhead, waldo, peggster and rerr ...
The best strat in 2vs2 is maybe somethin like this:
[Fascist] Bank Generator Forge Spamming Scouts
The other teammate is just doing everything to get bq as soon as possible, may supporting sometimes with marines or meds. Ive used this a few times, even atakatas are no prob! Oh, here are my shorties:
@ Zeke: For now i really dont believe in the power of your strat you are developing here ... many colony players use the easy, but strong and quick modikata-roman-rush. My version is much better, although im using nearly the same units (only scouts count to my army too): im just ordering my units very careful (use shortcuts!)
* no one understanding this when im talking to others ^^'

I am tired, sry ^^' Meds are kinda useless here, maybe not if the player is also makin a small post-tier 1 army with meds or the other player doing many romans ...
P.S.: Sry for my quad post rofl, anyway, i get banned soon.
Before i go, lets have some debate! Im very interested in the groditz recently
Do you like the grodtiz? Would you like it, if it would have splash? What should change on it (price, hp, range, damage etc.)? How often do you use it, and how do you use it?
The Groditz is ridiculously awesome. That HP buff really helps it tank more damage. You might think it is insiginificant, but the extra 30 HP gives medics a larger opportunity to heal the thing.
Giving it splash would be too much, though. It's mainly a support unit, being able to augment Chronites much better than Marines ever could (and their AA is far superior to Snipers, as well), and can also tank damage themselves to allow something like a Sniper to lolpwn everything as they try to get past the T2.5 340 HP XD
However, the range could use a bit of a buff. Right now, they are not as effective against Phantoms as I believe they should be. The splash on Phantoms increases damage dealt by a huge amount when facing multiple units, and Groditz are basically the only outpost unit that can come close to handling them.
