I know this topic has probably been done a hundred times but it's always fun to discuss weapons, If you have pictures post them so we can all see.
My favorties: 1. HK G36C 2. AA .12 aka Street Sweeper (full auto 12 gauge shotgun) 3. PWS Diablo (7in. piston upper receiver, about the same size as an MP5 but chambered in 5.56mm) and finally 4. Bushmaster ACR (formally Magpul's Masada and much better than the FNH SCAR in my opinion)
Actually the Browning M2 is Still in use for modern weapons and was used in WW2 lol reliability /adaptability this is just the AA version ...its portable just need a vehicle btw you never mentioned that it couldn't be a turret
I like the MP5 aswell. Another one of my favorites could be the 'Thumper' which I recently discovered and found out it'll be in Modern Warfare 2. Here's a picture of the Thumper.
Thats not .50 cal just look at the barrel and magazine its too small, btw most shout guns have close to the .50 caliber just the cartridge is designed as a scatter shot rather then a solid slug.
The best thing I have heard said about the AKs is "any assault rifle will make an enemy soldier keep his head down; an AK will make a whole army keep their head down" XD always makes me laugh. It is a truly amazing weapon so reliable and it was never patented to any one can make it very cheaply.
Seems like a lot of people here really like the AK-47. There's a reason why: it's cheap, some places will sell them for around $10 all the way to about $300, not very accurate but shoots about 700 RPM, the things practically indestructible, feels shaky in your hands but won't fall apart which is why they rarely ever jam, and you can bury it for years and dig it up and it will still fire like it was cleaned the day before, and the fact that it shoots the 7.62x39. Can turn anyone into a decent solider without any major training. Kalashnikov knew what he was doing.
The TAC-50 sniper rifle, and the M32 grenade launcher. the M32 just has lots of cool ammo types and an effective range of about a mile, and the TAC is the most accurate sniper rifle there is. It holds the world record for longest-range confirmed kill.
Favourite modern weapon, HK417. The SAS used it to make short work of the insurgents in Basra.
Yes, now there's decent marksman/assault rifle. 7.62 NATO gas operated rotating bolt with huge rail to attach everything including the kitchen sink.
However it seems a little on the large end to me. I like my assault rifles small and mean. Like the PWS Diablo or Knight's PDW. I know I put up picture of the Diablo but here's the KAC-PDW

For their use, mostly targeted assassinations of insurgent leaders, they were good for the job. A short barrel was not as necessary. For regular patrols though they'd normally use C8s.
