i really don't know on one side of the fence
if we kill them they get away with the crimes they have committed scott free, no punishment

then if we keep them in jail we use up tax payer money and they have a chance to be released on bail just waiting to kill again

what are your thoughts??

1 year? Are you insane? You think that's enough time to reform a murderer?
I say a life sentence for murder, period. No chance of parole. Should they attempt to escape, they are executed within a week of being brought back into custody. No more long waiting periods there.

I think you mean Capital Punishment. Capitol punishment would be throwing rocks at Washington for being a naughty capitol.

If killing is wrong, then why would the state kill someone? That seems like a double standard.
"Oh, but we had to kill him, he was a bad person!"
Okay, so what if I went around killing only bad people - it's still not legal.

Well, I believe that only God has the right to end life. I think murder is an automatic, one-way ticket to jail for life, and no parole.

I didn't think god did that kind of stuff any more. Or do Christians believe that God still decides when people die? Sorry, that seems kind of sarcastic, I'm not intending it to be, though. I honestly just don't know.

I think people who are murderers should be executed since it would not use as much money to keep them in prison. Other criminals should be in prison for a few years and then released. I think if they cause any more crimes they should be executed depending on the crime.

Well, SCIENCE certainly can't prove the time and exact second someones gonna die. Apparently, God picks it. XP

ANYWAY... I believe since God gave it, he takes it. But in order to keep our prosperty and as humans we do make mistakes, some executions are nessecary. By some, I mean as little as possible.

For one, CrazyNaitor, if I shot your whole family at the age of 20, lets say you had five people in it, and I left jail at 25 and started a fresh life with no problems while all your reletives are gone...

Yeah, I would MOST DEFINATELY get the better end of the stick, and if I was insane, I'd probably do the same thing again by the time I'm 30

[THAT WAS A SCENARIO, for anyone who thinks I"m evil. xP]

Murderers don't fly around as often as people believe, so lifetime jail sentences aren't live.

Most deaths aren't sometimes even caught out. Even things like Cocain hit like 2-10 years. The Jail system can't be a killing system, people will hate it. The insane that go their will lose their lives for nothing. People that haven't done anything wrong who MAY have been able to serve a few years and then be saved would be murdered.

I read about a man -- He served 30 years, for nothing. Accused of killing. He will never get those years back, but they payed him like 100 Million dollars for the time. [Even though, I and probably he too, would have chosen the 30 years].

Now think, the same innocent man [His family knew he was innocent ever since the start of his serve in jail].. That same man killed. THEN 30 years later he finds out he wasn't supposed to be killed.

Its moralic responsibility to people. Some murderers do get out.

Honestly, we spend SO MANY tax Dollars to keep a whole countries economy alive [Israel].. Yet, you think that paying three meals a day and jail space costs THAT MUCH? Costs just about nothing. We pay more on Defence Budget for that.

Jail isn't costing the country much, other crap is. So, all in all, I like the justice system, may have a billion cracks in it, but better than anything around anywhere else, and hopefully better than anything who can think up of something betterer. [IF there is someone, please, say something to Washington xP]

God doesn't actually DECIDE when we die, Christians just believe that God is the only person who should have that power. Does that make sense?

in the bible (not sure excactly where, somewhere in Genesis) it says that if one man sheds another mans blood, his blood will be shed, Which means if you kill someone you need to be killed

I'm against the death penalty, I actually wrote a resolution for General Assembly at Model United Nations last year about it.

Cost is negligible, and the most important thing is to prevent any more deaths from happening, including that of the actual convict.

But lately, I've been thinking this world's getting over-crowded... Maybe murderers should be able to run rampant in order to fix the eco-system.
