will i was watching 2012 and i was thinking how in the world will u r me kill a alien in combat nukes? guns? drop a car up 4000 feet in air on them? what would you do!
Anyway, I think that I would get a shotgun, and other weapons and stay around as long as possible. If they are a truly advanced species, it doesn't matter what the heII we do, they will kill us all.
The question is - Would we actively have to kill them?

That we manage to cope with on this planet - could very well kill any Aliens outright. Even if they've developed close-to lightspeed travel, it doesn't mean that they have considered the possibilities of life on our planet surviving in different conditions to them. Heck, even if they survived on this planet - the common cold or a strain of the influenza virus could easily wipe them out.
I personally think it would go as it went in the war of the worlds. The opposing species is advanced enough not to be damaged to much by our technology, it means they probably destroyed all or most viruses. Earth disease will probably destroy them, assuming they have week immune systems do to the wiping out.
Well, first off, do we have backround information on them? Are they: Friendly? At war? If at war would they like help? Their weapons? Interplanetary transport? Do they breath oxygen? Strong? ( physically and mentally )
id probably skip trying to kill em with small stuff like pistols. id probably use shotgunus, rifles, and explosives. ( just to be safe ) and if that didnt work, run em over with a vehicle... a heavy one.
