i'm confused. i learned that pi never ends but then some people say that a Japanese team of researchers found the value of pi and that it has 1.3511 trillion digits. who is right??? http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Does_pi_ever_end
Since Pi is an irrational number, it doesn't have a conceivable end point. I mean, seriously, here is Pi to a million digits. That isn't even 0.0000001% of how much we've calculated of Pi SO FAR - it could go on and on forever.
Exactly, if you want to prove that pi has AN end (you don't need to know where it ends and the exact number) you have to prove that its not an irrational number, if its neither repeating nor irrational it must have an end.
