@SuperSaiyan22 Yeah I agree but the only reason why there are so many bad ones is because there are so many games and the reason why there are so many games is because it's so easy to develop for. Once it a while you see a gem in the rough. It's all the counts.
Well considering the 360 and PS3 are both outdated the Wii 2 would have to be way more powerful than both of them to even hope to compete. If it is just as powerful or slightly more powerful than it would be obsolete at launch, which is exactly what made the Wii so bad...
I don't see away how they can just all of a sudden compete with the Xbox360 and PS3 I'm mean it's not like it'll be better I'm having low expectations
More like how can the 360 and PS3 compete with the wii. Sales dont lie. Also some new info I found.
"Japanese news source Nikkei has confirmed at least one of the many Project Cafe/Wii 2 rumors. They say that the controller will feature a six-inch touchscreen at its center, allowing for tablet-like controls of games. As rumored, there will also be buttons to be used alongside this touchscreen. A camera will also let you snap pictures of your face, much like you can on the Nintendo 3DS.
It has also been confirmed that the controller can be used as a stand-alone game device, as it's equipped with a battery that will support play on-the-go.
Finally, Nikkei says that this new console could launch as early as the middle of 2012."
It can be a portable system too... that's pretty amazing. At first I thought I wasn't going to buy it, because I already have a Wii and PS3... Now I feel like I need to buy it, since I do not have up to date portable systems. But it also depend on what you can play on the controller alone.
im not exactly excited, iv never been a Nintendo fan (aside from pokemon which used to be so awesome), and i do find the wii a bit gimmicky,(that and they love re-using 20year old franchises). it will probably sell well, but what new tech doesnt these days?

Why would they need to compete period? The Wii wasn't openly competing in the first place. It was more like an "alternative" to the HD consoles and looking at the response from the market it was a good call.
Which is why it confuses me that Nintendo would completely switch directions and market the new console as being super powerful in the graphics department, among other things, when their new business direction raked in the cash. Last time they openly competed (i.e the Gamecube) they were in last place sales-wise.

My thoughts:
If that controller really is a full-fledged handheld: Good job undermining the 3DS. Having said that, I doubt it since you still need the console to stream the game.
Can anyone tell me the purpose of a home-console controller being a handheld? Seems incredibly pointless.
Without more details, camera seems gimmicky at best.
Not to mention those controllers can't be cheap. Having expensive controllers would be......problematic.

Nintendo isn't the only company reusing their franchises.

The Gamecube didn't exactly become a smash-hit. Neither did the PS3.
