This was Sheppard007's idea. I really am bad at limericks!
But I hope people would like to contribute their limericks.
You never know, you just might become fresh talent!

Can you explain what a limerick is and maybe give an example? I'm searching Wikipedia, but I'm a little confused about the metric feet and all that jazz.

Limerick: AABBA, five lines, usually with a lot of wit and humor.

Example
There once was a man from Peru
Who had a lot of growing up to do,
Heâd ring a doorbell,
then run like hell,
Until the owner shot him with a .22.

*i didn't write that^

Wait, do these have to be our own or can we google them?

Here's one I just made up.

There once was a very blue fox
Who got stuck in a box
The fox was fine
The box was in line
And the fox put on some socks.

If the first line ends with blue,
Then with a rhyme ends line two,
But not line three,
It rhymes with four you see,
But line five rhymes with line one too.

I wrote a limerick to explain what a limerick is, just for the lols.

@Sheppard007, you can make up your own OR Google them. Whichever you desire.
@iMogwai, thank you for that. I'll admit I didn't have a clear idea as to
how to write a limerick. Now, I can write one!

It's funny where the sun sets
it's funny what the moon gets
from east to west
I will make a hundred bets
neither have any debts

see? I'm not so good.

Got some from this [url=http://freewebs.com/limericks/

'Tis a favourite project of mine,
A new value of pi to assign.
I would fix it at 3,
For it's simpler, you see,
Than 3 point 1 4 1 5 9

There was a young lady named Kite
Whose speed was much faster than light.
She left home one day
In a relative way
And returned on the previous night.

I knew a small boy who could fly
He though that he would never die
He flew into a wall
let out one last call
And to the world he said goodbye

this is a poem about a kid who flew into a wall and died. Pretty good by my standards

@XVERB, that one's really cool. I'm not so good, so I really don't think I'll be adding much to this thread except when I really have to.

I'll let Sheppard007 dominate this thread.

Okay, XVERB. I'm so not good at limericks though. This was Sheppard007's idea. I'll try from time to time though.

Good limerick Denchot. Just one thing though.

he liked two pillage & rob

perhaps 'too' would be more appropriate in this context.
