As someone who has used both Macs and windows, I have this to say:
Macs are awesome. While it is annoying that they cant play certain flash or other games, I'm still happy.

Windows, for me meant more games, and I still love my mac.

Honestly though, go out and decide for yourself

Mac is better in some points like performance, lack of viruses, great program but it is to freaking expensive.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Pc, otherwise, It's not expensive, unless you want a futurific pc, the performance depends on the pc, programs are really good aswell, and the big advantage is that you can play MANY more games on the PC than on Mac.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
So, in my opinion, PC is better

I would say PC because I have had one all of my life and think that they are just fine compared to the Mac which is way too over my price range.

i am all the way mac and i am currently writting this on one, my friens have pc's and they are dark and confusing macs are the easyist computer to use and are growing the quickest, - Macs give you the ability to run OS X and Windows both (legally).

- Macs work great with other Apple components such as the iPhone, iPod Classic, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, iPod Shuffle, etc...

- Macs are very simple to use.

- Macs are less prown to computer viruses, although they can get viruses.

- Purchasing a Mac gives you Apple Store support.

- Apple uses quality parts to manufacture Macs.

- Macs are trendsetting, designed well, and visually appealing.

- Macs come with better software, out of the box (iLife).

- Macs give you out of the box access to the iTunes Store, if you are an iPod or iPhone user.

- Out of the box, Macs are not loaded with trials and additional software.

To compare Mac and PC... Which one is better? It's all personal preference.

so are PC's.

So? Macs can still get virusis.
- Purchasing a Mac gives you Apple Store support.

Big deal!
etc. Anyways,as you may see from the rest of my post,PC's the best.

Like some others, I agree that it is personal preference. Both PC and Mac are both very good. I prefer PC just because I have always used one. My school has all the computer labs and classrooms stocked with Mac computers; I don't really enjoy using them, but they aren't that bad. I'm not sure why the debate between PC vs. Mac causes so much controversy.

Yes, because I'm totally going to spend $2500 on a computer I can build for $600.

Its not just that, its $2500 on a computer you could have built two years ago for $600.

I'm not sure why the debate between PC vs. Mac causes so much controversy.

I think its mostly because both sides have a few people that go "YOUR COMPUTER IS HORRIBLE AND MINE ISN'T".

When it has nothing to do with the computer. It's all the OS.

I'm currently building a $1400 dollar gaming computer. Assuming you could go out and buy Mac OS, I still wouldn't buy it. Do you know why? Because Mac's gaming support is pathetic compared to Windows. It would defeat the entire purpose. It doesn't matter how much better or worse one is compared to the other, when some people have a specific need, only one can typically fit that need.

Thats part the problem recently, Mac OS is losing its edge for high end video/image/sound editing and Windows is gaining ground in that area.

Then what do you use...?

Probably a mobile device, like a phone or PSP.

PC vs. Mac depends entirely on opinion, and what you want to do with your computer.
Since I am hardly of an un-baised opinion on this matter (being a PC user myself) I can't say exactly which is better.
My best friend and his entire family all have a Macs and I go over to his house a lot and we play games. I know Macs are awesome and I know PC's are awesome.
It depends on what you want to do. I think Macs are certainly more user friendly, and are easier to use. They are simple to set up, and they have a few Mac-exclusive games I am very jelly of.
And then there's iPods, iPhones, iPads (a.k.a. really big ipods.) that eat up the market. (top 2 richest companies in the world: Apple, Exxon)
PC's are cool, it's easy to upgrade them and get them REALLY good if you can buy the parts (like, seriously. My comp is a freakin super computer, if something goes wrong (and if you know how) you can pull everything apart and fix it yourself (no exsorbitantly priced Apple stores that are few and far between). There are also a LOT more PC exclusive games.
But Steve Jobs is way nicer and lets Macs run windows so...lol (he also doesnt profit from Apple, he makes his money from stock trade. xP) (Bill Gates wont let any of his family have anything mac. His wife cant even get an iPhone. Heck, I have one. They're the best. <3 )
I consider Macs = java and PC's = C# to be a decent enough example if you understand it.
