People who rush ruin the fun of colony, unless both parties agree to it, no one should rush.

How can you say that rushing ruins the fun of Colony when instead you would rather build up a huge army to create massive lag on both sides which really has no skill required except a small amount of macro.

Are you that lazy that you just won't build a unit deployment structure and lose the game? And/or scream at your partner because they didn't "cover you?"

I agree with SoccerDude. Rushes are easily countered, just keep an eye on what buildings the enemy builds. If the build a forge as their first building, it's obvious you need to build some regular tanks/marines asap. Besides, once their rush has been defeated they lose valuable time to build decent buildings, and waste most of their early resources. This makes them extremely easy to destroy late game.

but when it is not agreed to, the other party may be caught off guard and destroyed because he built the wrong buildings.

Actually, I think "rushers" would usually have an edge against players who are not rushing until they are forced to defend. The aggressive team would have more influence due to field control and also if the pressure on the enemy is continued they will be forced to make more and more units to try to rid themselves out of a pin/romans attacking the base. What you're thinking of is probably a forge-first roman rush.

A lot of times when playing noobs because no one else is on they say "no rushing" without giving you a choice in the matter... even if majority felt otherwise anyway.

The host should have final say, and if he says rushing is allowed, I will concede and leave, and if you disagree with what the host says just leave and make your own game.

Or you could learn to play.

Anyone half decent at the game knows that speed is part of the game. If you take away rushing, very little skill is left over. My point: Please stop crying and learn how to play the game.

You have to keep in mind that this is a two dimensional real time strategy game created as an online game. This is not Star Craft. This is not Chess. This is not Poker. This game does not handle 30+ units. You are responsible for building what is needed when it's needed. You are responsible for telling your units what to do. You must a play the game.

I find it funny how times have changed. Back when the game was in its prime, nobody mentioned rushers, only a few had a problem. Let me remind everyone that the community as a whole was allot better during these times. Now building a unit in the first minutes gets you crucified. Without legends like me, new players can't learn basics. It's so funny how bad this community has gotten. (derp)

You should check out the Kong version of colony. If you can find people on you will see that the metagame is totally different and rushing is totally valid.

Wow, when did that version start working again? Too bad it doesn't have the old Blossom Servers.

Well it depends. Sometimes rushing Romans is useful. I actually like rushers. Especially when they are in my team. I feel like bad*** then. Like my partner is rushing while i make a massive army of sphinxes or saints. And when you are up against rushers. They are just the same thing as normal or hard cpus. I mean. Cpus are rushers too. No wonder i get owned in the last missions xD

I just can't understand why the players who don't like rushing always call the rushers noobs, while themselves are truly noobs ! They either glitched against me or got out of the room and spread that "GodOfWar35 is a noob" ! I just sit there and laughed ironically...
Because Colony is a 2-Dimension Strategy game, there's only 1 way to approach enemies' base so it's hard to invent lots of good strategies and tricks, if we just make tons of units and fight like watching a lame movie ! Seriously if we try to upgrade to Tier-3 units and "CHARGE" like those &quotlayers" said, it's not different from a game of chance ! We can't ensure which army is stronger...
And what Tier-1 and Tier-2 units are there for ? Displays ?
This destroy the drama and attractiveness of the game ! Playing diversely is recommended !
All I'm not supportive of is "Ancient war" - gathering in a large group and charge like noobs !
