The whole conflict started with Russia attacking civilians. If indeed Russia makes this an official war against Georgia, then for sure it would prove to be Georgia's demise.
I was really expecting some dumb kid going ape shit thinking Russia was invading Georgia the State. I'm Glad thats not the case.
I think Russia has seen how horrible the War in Iraq and Afghanistan has been going for the USA and now they're considering the US weak and making a powerplay to reinstate themselves as a world power again.
This doesn't surprise me at all.Russia had just rebuilt their army not too long ago.I had a feeling they were going to use it eventually.They just never seem have enough land for their power hungry government do they.Still its interesting to know there is a country named Georgia.
Six years ago, Russia and Georgia had intence arguements over territory in the country. Georgia claims that before the Soviet Union came to be, that region belonged to Georgia. It should explain everything in the story link.
My thoughts right now arent about the military outcome (surely a russian victory bar a miracle or outside intervention) but the effect this could have on the olympics.With both Russian and Georgian teams present it will be interesting to see if anything kicks off like when the Hungarian team had a fight with the Russian water polo team back when it was the Soviet Union.
