look at religion over the years starting way back at medieval times the crusades or holy war caused many deaths all in the name of Christianity and that they killed people of other religion (i forgot the religion but i believe it was Muslim)in the name of there god and jumping back to modern times you can even base 9/11 on a religion if you can justify so is it not an honor to die suicide bombing or plane jacking if you can justify that you did it in the name of the Muslim god

so basically im looking for the opinion's of people on armor games do you think religion's worth it? please at least attempt to back up your answer

Animals didn't "evolve" over millions of years, they are all the way they were when created.

So the theory that 6000 years ago a giant magical being suddenly poofed peoples and llamas and moles out out of thin air makes more sense then anything else?

First off, thinking that man came out of nothing is messed up

Like how that magical being poofed us up one happy day because it was bored? Oh I forgot, we came from dirt. That was magically created out of nothing, of course.

There has been many times when it's been proved that the earth is NOT several millions of years old.

Could I get a look at that &quotroof?"

no religion caused wars, not recent ones but the one large war over the supposively "holy lands"

honestly, if not directly, religion can be seen in most wars, simply due to the fact that much of the dislikes between regions can be traced back to religious purposes. For example, most middle-eastern countries do not like Israel because they basically took over the muslim holy lands (also the holy areas for the jewish israelites) The US support of the foundation and protection of Israel is probably one of the big factors in why some middle-eastern people and governments don't exactly like the US.

By the way to everyone that is saying that the muslims hate israel for taking their holy land its kind've ludicris. First of all Jerusalum is the 2nd holiest city in islam, Mecca bieng first, and secondly the arabs are mad becusae the way Isreal was estblished was by kicking arabic peoples that had lived there for centuries, Palistine.

Wars are started becuase of greed and want of power, not religion. Religion is used as a cover figure to mask true intentions and get people fired up for the fight.

and the palestinians were kicked out for what reason? religion... no matter what, it can be traced to the conflict, and that cannot be denied.

Lol. Sediment deposits and carbon dating prove nothing. They must be completely useless forms of analyzing the Earth, I suppose.

And, it's not millions of years old. It's billions.

Also sorry for double post but Zoosuit is right. Back in eygpt scientist discovered a mumified bird that when carbon dated only said it was 500 or so years old. Upon further examination the scientists saw that a flim had devolped over the bird throwing of the dating of the bird. Moral of this story carbon datings not as accurate as it seems.

This is a personal question. I personally believe that my life is better off as a religious person.

That depends. Have you ever gone through a non-religious phase to compare to?

IF we didnt have religion we wouldnt have the USA.

Hmm, I think if we take the opposite of that opinion, and change the words 'the USA' to 'humanity,' it would make more sense. For people too lazy work it out, here's what I mean in simple terms: Without people actually following religion, religion would not exist. If everyone stopped believing in God, then God would have no power. Sorry if I said that in a way that is a little too rough for theists, but it's the truth...

and the palestinians were kicked out for what reason? religion... no matter what, it can be traced to the conflict, and that cannot be denied.

That is not correct. I believe the Jews (too blunt?) wanted an independant Jewish state (Israel,) so they used the excuse that it was their land thousands of years ago to attack it. I think it was the British that gave them the 'green light' to take over Palestine. I might be looking at the wrong time frame, but I think Britain was in control of Palestine at that time.

First off, thinking that man came out of nothing is messed up! There has been many times when it's been proved that the earth is NOT several millions of years old. The earth is only about 6000yrs old. Dinosaurs were wiped out by a worldwide flood not by some meteor that one can't even prove existed! Animals didn't "evolve" over millions of years, they are all the way they were when created. People didn't "evolve" from monkeys, even though our DNA is CLOSE, its not a match!

I find this really funny, and I find the fact that people are agreeing with this even funnier... no offense.

Please provide evidence that the Earth was PROVEN to be 6,000 years old? Haha...

Dinosaurs were wiped out by a worldwide flood? Hah! Even if I do try to accept that, it still doesn't make any sense. Dinosaurs died out 69 years ago, believing in them would contradict your belief that the Earth is 6,000 years old. Besides, I'm pretty sure, according to the Bible, that Noah was not building his arc while there were dinosaurs roaming around, would they not be a little... distractive?

Yes, our DNA is not a perfect match with the DNA of a monkey (we evolved from apes, by the way ), that's why we have... slight (lol?) differences? But scientists have found fossils that show species that look pretty similar to us, and to apes.

Just to comfort you, we didn't evolve from nothing. I haven't read much about how life originated on Earth, but I think it was lightning striking amino acids (basic blocks of life,) and hence the first bacteria was formed, and they later evolved (see evolution) to more complex forms of life, like human beings.

The fact that when Noah sent off birds and they came back was proof that there wasn't any land to, um, land on.

Birds flew all around Earth? At what? 10 km per hour? Interesting...

And i do believe that as a result of the Flood, you can now find fossilized clams on the top of mountains.

Well, I'm PRETTY sure there are a lot more reasonable explainations, like for example, sea level decreased?

Do you have any idea how mountains are formed? Yep, you guessed it, tectonic plates, might've been a few clams on each one, huh? And maybe... just maybe, they collided and formed a mountain? A few lucky clams didn't fall off the mountain, and that's how they're there?

Everyone that is saying that the muslims hate Israel for taking their holy land its kind've ludicris. First of all, Jerusalem is the 2nd holiest city in Islam, Mecca being first, and secondly the Arabs are mad because of the way Isreal was established, it was done by kicking the Arabs that had lived there for centuries in Palestine.

Skyla's spell check

I agree with you, though. The Quo'ran said that Jerusalem should be the land of all religions. It's where they can all live in harmony, united. The Jews do not understand that they are welcome to stay in Palestine, without the need for an invasion, and the Palestinians would have welcomed them.
