look at religion over the years starting way back at medieval times the crusades or holy war caused many deaths all in the name of Christianity and that they killed people of other religion (i forgot the religion but i believe it was Muslim)in the name of there god and jumping back to modern times you can even base 9/11 on a religion if you can justify so is it not an honor to die suicide bombing or plane jacking if you can justify that you did it in the name of the Muslim god

so basically im looking for the opinion's of people on armor games do you think religion's worth it? please at least attempt to back up your answer

I agree with you Skyla about believing in things gives them power, NOT about you saying it with God. Before we knew the Earth was round, people believe it flat and feared it and it grew to have power, we discovered it wasn't and poof the power/fear went away.

I personally think that religion is used during/to start wars as 1) a morale booster, 2) support gainer, 3) reasonable reason (double reason heh). They all make sense. Being that I believe in God and religion I will not say religion has caused trouble, I don't believe it has, just that people have used it as a reason. You can ridicule me for believing but it won't change my belief. All the same if I made fun of atheists you/they would only cling more to their belief of non-belief.

Me? Ridicule you? Why would you think I would do such a thing?

Heh, and yes, I admit that people do use religion as an excuse for war, for getting what they want... or for just increasing the soldiers' will to fight, motivating them, etc.

I meant you as a broad term not personally. It also seems that when people see their belief threatened they lash out. If I am correct in saying in the beginning the pilgrims came to the US for religious reasons, and thus the US was founded due to the same religious reasons, I find it slightly disturbing that we are weakening our ties to the "religious community". No prayer before games, no prayer in school, God taken out of the pledge, but every president claims to be religious and so do the congress peoples, so they can get votes. Anyone else see a problem with this?

We are totally in our rights to choose to believe, or not believe in a higher power. But honestly, I'm glad the relisious ties are being severed. Too much of your daily lives revolve around religion as it is.

Yeah. Religion doesn't seem to provide much. Just as an opportunity for manipulation or guidelines (effective or not) for morals and stuff. It also further dis-unifies each other which leaves aggression as a possibility to settle matters.

Although... friars brew good beer.
