Well, this was borne out of two things; The recent events of last night, and BigPo saying he would ban people like nnine almost as soon as they started. So, that got me thinking, and I came up with this:
Hunter/Killer Mods.
Essentially, it allows normal people 'half' mod powers, or the mods we already have another option.
What hapens is this:
Lets say some guy (or girl) is spamming, flamming, trolling, you take your pick. He is either reported to the Hunter/Killer Mod, or the H/K Mod finds him.
The Mod will warn that player, and give him the consequences of what will happen if he continues.
If the 'Target' continues with his actions, the H/K Mod can do something that is a cross between a 'Temp Ban' and a 'Mute'. The 'Target' is sent into a 'rison' or a holding place where he cant do anything. The Mods or Admins can then review his (or her)'s file, and then deem if its worthy enough of a ban, or an IP Ban.
This allows the 'Target' to be dealt with in a more efficient way, and in a safer way, as the mods are contemplatening the 'Targets' Future in a Safe Enviroment, instead of while the He or She is on a Spamming Rampage.
Ofcourse, there are some limitations.
1) Power. Should the H/K Mods have the power to have just a normal 'Ban' Power? I think NO. This might lead to a 'Newb' Spammer getting Banned.
2) Over-Banning. What if a H/K Mod starts T/Banning people who he/she just doesnt get along with? He could get into a debate, and BAM! Half the opposition is gone. This is also one of the benefits of a 'Prison' for those caught by H/K Mods. --- H/K Mods: Hunter/Killer Mods
T/Ban: Temporary/Ban
Target: Those under suspect by the H/K Mods --- Kinda sounds like a secret police... Oh, and instead of having 'Ban-Hammers', should the H/K Mods have 'Ban-Mallets'? :P
Why? You don't think that they're doing the best they can?
When was the last time you saw Estel? Moe? ubertuna? dank? It has been a while. I'm not saying they should be demoted. I'm just saying we could use a few more.
And no respect for how many mods Kongregate has, since after what I hear they are not doing a very good job.
No, they are not. But Kongregate never was a very good site to begin with, so you can't expect much from them.
Again, it is the responsibility of the staff, or more likely Dan to agree with who to give this spot, and he is currently busy.
He is online almost every day to add games. I'm sure Carlie lives within walking distance of him...

He still seems to have other things in mind, but I am not in direct contact with any of the staff, so I would not know. I just know that the mods are getting frustrated, and Carlie is too, probably.
lol ernie, totaly agreed. Carlie is the only good mod anymore (mainly, anyways)
She seems to have her moments of activity, just as all the other mods have, but trouble is that the mods we have all are working on their exams/thesis/studies/real life, because most are old enough to have a such.
Thank you, I am glad you agree with me. I've suggested this to Carlie countless times, but she has just ignored it.
No, she has not. But there have not been users ready for it. And Carlie (with the make-mod skill) has been off getting married and stuff.

Huh. She's actually an admin. Also, I know at least Devoidless is still doing a pretty good job. Don't judge purely on what you see, moderation is like an iceberg. You guys only notice when someone popular is permabanned, something is locked or some lively spammer or troll is taken care of.
I know what it's like to be the only active mod on a site with tons of spammers and trolls. Trust me, it isn't easy!
Remember the spammer who gave up (temporarily) after he'd had six hours on here without any mods coming online? I cleaned up after him. Yeah. 170+ posts to delete. Manually.

On the site I was a mod on, fake emails were allowed, so no matter how many times I banned someone, they'd keep coming back. And there were more types of spam to deal with, like pack advertising (none of you would know about that). This sort of thing happened every day. Banning didn't actually get rid of the user; it just held them back slightly and deleted all of their posts.
So if you think you've had bad experiences with being the only active mod, think again.

*cough*
All in all, user -> mod trouble, oddities of half a mod and... all that jazz.
Compared to myninjakiwi, this site has very few spam rules. And if all rules are broken at least once every day here, imagine how many were broken there...

Sounds like you had a nifty tool, though.
and deleted all of their posts
Helpful thing.

We're actually working on an update of the rules... It's just going slowly.

Yes, thank you very much for finding the last 3 or 4 posts that I couldn't figure out where were.
I had a ban button (for users), a sticky button (for threads), a delete button (for posts and threads), and a disable button (for packs). And 3 out of 4 of them had the same icon. The ban button only gave perma-bans, so there was no such thing as a temp-ban, which made the job a lot more difficult; since there were so many rules for mods to not ban users, I had to think of other ways of punishing the culprits.

You know that Myninjakiwi was a level-sharing site for Ninjakiwi games, right? And that there were over 600,000 users and over 1 million level packs? How easy do you think it would be to moderate all of those users and packs while still keeping an eye on the forums? Not so easy, is it.
