Well, this was borne out of two things; The recent events of last night, and BigPo saying he would ban people like nnine almost as soon as they started. So, that got me thinking, and I came up with this:

Hunter/Killer Mods.

Essentially, it allows normal people 'half' mod powers, or the mods we already have another option.

What hapens is this:

Lets say some guy (or girl) is spamming, flamming, trolling, you take your pick. He is either reported to the Hunter/Killer Mod, or the H/K Mod finds him.

The Mod will warn that player, and give him the consequences of what will happen if he continues.

If the 'Target' continues with his actions, the H/K Mod can do something that is a cross between a 'Temp Ban' and a 'Mute'. The 'Target' is sent into a 'rison' or a holding place where he cant do anything. The Mods or Admins can then review his (or her)'s file, and then deem if its worthy enough of a ban, or an IP Ban.

This allows the 'Target' to be dealt with in a more efficient way, and in a safer way, as the mods are contemplatening the 'Targets' Future in a Safe Enviroment, instead of while the He or She is on a Spamming Rampage.

Ofcourse, there are some limitations.

1) Power. Should the H/K Mods have the power to have just a normal 'Ban' Power? I think NO. This might lead to a 'Newb' Spammer getting Banned.

2) Over-Banning. What if a H/K Mod starts T/Banning people who he/she just doesnt get along with? He could get into a debate, and BAM! Half the opposition is gone. This is also one of the benefits of a 'Prison' for those caught by H/K Mods.
---
H/K Mods: Hunter/Killer Mods

T/Ban: Temporary/Ban

Target: Those under suspect by the H/K Mods
---
Kinda sounds like a secret police... Oh, and instead of having 'Ban-Hammers', should the H/K Mods have 'Ban-Mallets'? :P

What difference would a private mod make?

I think it was 11 when you actually asked me...
But nevermind that, just wanted some acknowledgement. I is the fine nows.
Goods~ And I really mean the 'thank you', you is good help when it comes to finding stuff.

I think his point was that he could relate to your situation.
Looked like he was trying to say that he did much more. Which is kinda lame.

Ok.... this is useless
As are comments like that. Please put more thought into your future posts, or they will end up deleted as spam.

This is not a bad idea at all, i quite like it but i think that the Mods now do a good job on catching spammers/flamers/trollers. A warning from a Mod should be enough for you to stop, if it does'nt then, BAM, instant ban.

Mods also put trust in all AG'ers to report s/f/t, and having h/k Mods could diminish the chance of an AG'er proving that they are responsible and mature to a full Mod, as many h/k Mods could take the credit and possibly be made a full Mod. I'm not saying that some would be like that, but you never know.

I needed to share that information, and I just happened to be in rant mode when I did it.

As Zophia mentioned: The function of banning and deleting and locking is the three greatest tools of the mods. So giving them the last few things would not count as anything.

I personally would say we need more responsible members that know how to act, or rather, how not to act...

I think you are quite right there Cenere, it would help the site in a fantastic way, as more responsible people would help AG run smoother.

Not to mention that people already send you spam reports because they think you're a mod. Making you a mod will make those users not look like idiots!

There's your problem. ^^; Seemed a little aggressive, but if you were in a ranting mood, then k, that explains it.

That would be nice~

Nah, they would probably still look like idiots, but most people does that once in a while.
I am not really mod material either, people are just caught in my web of illusions.

But simply knowing when to not post, or what not to reply to, would help AG and the mods quite a bit, simply because the actual troubles would stand out more.

You can pass for one because you look like Strop.

As true as that is, it still won't get rid of the spammers. It would help though.

Yes, if more people thought like this and followed these simple steps S/F/T would stand out like the bold text.
